And Bestie played with a heavy ball, mud heaps as pitches and no protection from the referee. Remember Chopper Harris trying to take him out at Old Trafford in a League Cup game in the early 70's - didn't succeed and he scored a fantastic goal in front of the Stretford End :)))
You've played a blinder cw, congrats and hope you don't rush back in. Dead cat bounce a strong possibility if this goes up in the morning after the US had a positive finish.
Very interested in quadruple witching on Friday. How do you see it play out?
I feel for you Botbot. I've not forgiven myself for not selling out when it dipped back to 119 a few weeks ago :(!!
Thing is it's so easy to buy and sell we should all do it when the signals point to a drop. It's not like selling a house or car. It's done in seconds. I've stopped blind loyalty to any share I own. If it's time to get out don't hesitate, you can always get back in. If it's time to add because it's on a good run then do so.
It'll come good Thebuyer, that is a certainty. Question is when will it bottom? Outside influences are dragging this down not RR's performance or management. Granted the long haul flight issue is not helping but RR is a lot more than a travel related business.
Markets couldn't give a stuff about that. RR has lost 5% since it closed on Friday!! Bottom not reached yet in my opinion.
RR does not operate in a vacuum. We all know it's a great company and grossly undervalued, but it's exposed to vagaries of the wider market. All the technical data out there is negative on the world markets with the added uncertainty of interest rate hikes and tapering in the US sooner rather than later. While this uncertainty is there there will be no significant climb. "Dead cat bounce" is all we'll get until the uncertainty is gone.
I was around briefly on Monday mrJim and had predicted RR would go below 107 this week. Take no pleasure in reminding those who stayed in but ALL shares will be collateral damage. For heavens sake its dropped 5% already this week!!
It's going backwards PFen because of macro issues in the world and the fact the US is about to have, at the very least a major pullback in their stock markets, RR is a great stand alone company, far more than a travel related one but is not immune to the overall stock market sentiment.
Another fact is the FTSE 100, which RR is a member is the WORST performing index in the developed world this year!!
Morning Nom. Yes I'm confident the US will rebound but they needs to drop as they've defied gravity this past few months, whilst we've only had a brief respite, hence my hangover analogy!!
Next week Powell will be making another announcement on tapering and interest rates. Uncertainty again until then so see more of the same until then I'm afraid.
Agree Svend but unclear what you're saying regarding RR's SP. Are you saying RR will benefit as individual countries will do more business with them on their defence budget?
My point was that the US stock markets are in the early stages of a pullback/correction, nothing to do with leaving Afghanistan.
We've got let the US of A sort itself out first!!
I feel like I've got the hangover and not been to the party!! They are coming of countless record highs and we're struggling like hell again. Guess it will be another buying opportunity when dust settles.
