Definition of 'Trade Creditor'

A supplier who gives cusomers a grace period in which to pay bills after supplies have been delivered. The grace period varies from weeks for consumer goods to years for some capital goods.

The need to provide credit over long periods of time accounts for most of the capital needed for operating in many industries.
