Appointment of Non-Executive Director

Zanaga Iron Ore Company ("Zanaga" or the "Company") (AIM:ZIOC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Alistair Eastwood Franklin SC as a Non-Executive Director, effective immediately.

Mr Franklin has been appointed as Chairman of ZIOC's Remuneration Committee, replacing Dave Elzas. Mr Elzas will remain as Chairman of the Audit Committee.

Mr Franklin, aged 54, was called to South Africa's Johannesburg Bar in August 1985 and he took silk on 17 November 2000. He is currently a member of the Advocates Group 621 in Johannesburg and holds the position of Group Leader. He has been a Non-executive director of Cargo Carriers Limited, a company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, since 2002 where he is a member of the Audit & Risk, Nomination and Remuneration Committees.

In line with the other Non-executive Directors of ZIOC, Mr Franklin has been granted an option over 199,076 ordinary shares of no par value in the capital of ZIOC, to be issued as soon as possible, for nil consideration at an exercise price of zero pence, to be vested in three instalments.

Following these changes the Board will consist of six directors, all of whom will be Non-executive Directors.

At the date of his appointment as a Director, Mr Franklin did not own any ordinary shares in ZIOC.
