Westminster Group PLC14 January 2008 14th January 2008 Westminster Group Plc: Appointment of Non-Executive Director Westminster Group Plc ('Westminster' or the 'Group'), the AIM listed supplier ofsystem solutions and products to the security, defence, fire protection andsafety markets worldwide, announces the appointment of The Hon. Sir MichaelPakenham KBE CMG as Non-Executive Director with effect from 1st February 2008. Sir Michael Pakenham had a distinguished career in the Diplomatic Servicelasting nearly 40 years, during which time he held posts in Poland, Paris,Washington, New Delhi, Nairobi, Brussels, Luxembourg and London. Whilst in theCabinet Office in Whitehall he served for three years as Cabinet Secretary forDefence and Overseas Affairs, as Chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committeeand as Intelligence Coordinator. He retired from the Service in 2003 at whichpoint he was British Ambassador to Poland. Among other current roles he is a Senior Advisor to Access Industries, aUS-based private holding company with global interests, including in Russia; anda member of the European Advisory Board to Northrop Grumman IT. He has led workon the EU Security & Technology research project with Thales and IISS. Otherappointments include a member of the Council of Kings College, LondonUniversity; and Trustee of the Chevening Estate.
