Appointment of Alternate Director

The Board of Thor Mining Plc ("Thor" or the "Company") (AIM, ASX: THR), is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Stephen Ronaldson as an Alternate Director of the Company, with immediate effect for a period of 2 business days only.

Stephen Ronaldson is the joint company secretary and will represent the Company's board of directors in person at the General Meeting on 3 September 2013 as a result of no other director being able to attend in person. Mick Billing, the Company's Chairman, will attend the General Meeting via telephone conference.

At the General Meeting, Shareholders are being asked to approve amendments to the Company's articles of association which, if approved, will allow either the Company Secretary or a person elected by Shareholders at the meeting to chair future general meetings.

Stephen Frank Ronaldson, aged 57, currently holds, and has held (including all appointments during the five years preceding the date of this announcement), the following directorships and partnerships, other than of the Company:

Mr Ronaldson has no interest in the shares or options of Thor.

There are no further disclosures to be made in relation to Mr Ronaldson under Schedule Two, paragraph (g) (i)-(viii) of the AIM Rules for Companies.
