DIRECTOR/PDMR SHAREHOLDING
Synthomer plc
Synthomer plc ("Synthomer" or "the Company") announces the following transactions in connection with the exercise of options on 11 March 2014 under the Company's long term incentive plan by persons discharging managerial responsibilities:
· the exercise by Mr A M Whitfield, the Company's Group Chief Executive, of zero cost options over 406,394 ordinary shares in aggregate awarded to him in 2009 and 2010 under the terms of 2002 Performance Share Plan.
· the exercise by Mr D C Blackwood, the Company's Chief Financial Officer, of zero cost options over 237,151 ordinary shares in aggregate awarded to him in 2009 and 2010 under the terms of the 2002 Performance Share Plan.
In both cases sufficient shares have been disposed of to satisfy the tax liability arising on exercise of the options calculated on the basis of the Company's closing share price of 264.9 pence on 10 March 2014.
Following the above transactions:
· Mr Whitfield's shareholding is 229,388 shares in the Company.
· the shareholding of Mr Blackwood and his spouse, Mrs I S Blackwood, is 143,190 shares in aggregate in the Company with Mr Blackwood and Mrs Blackwood holding 17,500 shares and 125,690 shares respectively.
Both Mr Whitfield and Mr Blackwood (including connected persons) have shareholdings currently worth in excess of 100% of their annual basic salary.
The issued share capital of the Company is 339,880,769 shares of 10p each.
