RNLI Supply Agreement

2 Aug 2007 07:00

SOFTWARE RADIO TECHNOLOGY PLC Agreement to Supply AIS Technology to the RNLI

The Directors of Software Radio Technology plc ("SRT") are pleased to announce that SRT Marine Technology Limited has signed an agreement with Raycomm Electronics Limited to supply SRT's AIS Class B transceivers for use in a system being developed by Raycomm for the RNLI to assist in tracking and management of its fleet of lifeboats.

Adopting new technology which enhances search and rescue capability is a high on the agenda for the RNLI. Extensive trials of SRT Marine Technology's AIS Class B transceivers carried out in the Solent on a number of RNLI All-Weather Lifeboats demonstrated the significant benefits for the RNLI.

Mark Morgan, Radiocommunications Project Officer with the RNLI said: "The RNLI considers AIS Class B to be an important technology in augmenting existing search and rescue systems."

Richard Thatcher, Raycomm's Managing Director said: "Our expertise in integrating leading edge technologies to provide complete product solutions is enabling the RNLI to achieve an ever more rapid and successful response in a search and rescue situation."
