GL53 8ER News Release Telephone: 01242 521361 Fax: 01242 581470 www.SpiraxSarcoEngineering.com 4 July 2006 Spirax Sarco acquires majority share in US manufacturer of pure steam generatorsand water stills for US$4.9 million (£2.7 million) The Group announces that, through its newly formed subsidiary company SpiraxUltraPure, LLC, it has acquired 80% of the business and assets of UltraPureGroup, Inc of Florida, USA. The remaining 20% will be retained by the foundersof UltraPure, in recognition of their continuing involvement in the business. UltraPure's range of pure steam generators and water stills is marketed to thepharmaceutical and biotechnology industries and complements and strengthens theGroup's existing specialist range of products for the control of pure steam andclean steam in ultra-hygienic processes. The purchase consideration for the Group's 80% interest is $4.9 million (£2.7million) and will be financed from existing funds. Spirax Sarco provides knowledge, service and products for the control andefficient use of steam and other industrial fluids worldwide.
