Trading update
The Board of Solid State plc, a leading supplier of battery products, electronic components and industrial computers, is pleased to provide an update on trading as the Company nears the end of the first half of the current financial year to 31 March 2010.
Trading at Steatite continues to be positive with a strong order book, although conditions remain more uncertain in components. We have been awarded a £0.5 million order from a leading global defence, security and aerospace company for command and control systems for the defence market and this will be shipped in the second half of the current financial year. This order has been secured from the same customer that awarded the Company a £1.2 million order in May 2009.
Whilst order visibility remains unpredictable, this new order helps to underpin the Board's continued cautious optimism for the current financial year.
The Board expects that the interim results for the six months to 30 September 2009 will be announced in December.
