Solid State plc (AIM: SSP) ("Solid State" or "the Company"), the AIM listed supplier of specialist industrial/ruggedised computers, electronic components, antennae, microwave systems and battery power solutions to the electronics market, announces that Gordon Comben intends to stand down as Chairman of the Board with effect from 31 March 2014. Mr Comben will continue to serve as a Non-executive Director of the Company. Tony Frere, currently Deputy Chairman and a Non-executive Director, will become Chairman with effect from 1 April 2014. 

Commenting, Tony Frere, said: "On behalf of the Board I would like to thank Gordon for his contribution as chairman since November 2011 which has been a very successful period for Solid State".
