Embargoed: not to be released until 7.00am on 29 March 2007 Surface Transforms plc ("Surface Transforms" or "the Company") Directorate Change
The Company announces that Julio Faria, Technical Director of the Company, will step down as an executive director in December 2007 and the intention is that he will thereafter remain on the board of Surface Transforms as a non-executive director. Mr Faria founded the Company in 1992 together with Professor David Clark, and, as the then managing director he first listed the Company on Ofex in December 2000 and then on AIM in September 2003. Since August 2005 he has occupied the role of Technical Director.
Following Mr Faria's move to non-executive director Dr Kevin Johnson and Dr. Maria
Hadjesoteriou will head up the Company's technical development team and assume responsibility for the ongoing development of the Company's products.

"Julio's early entrepreneurial vision in developing and then applying carbon ceramic technology to braking systems was the foundation of Surface Transforms. We are confident he will make a valuable ongoing contribution to the business in his forthcoming new capacity as a non-executive director.
