MicroEmissive Displays Group PLC12 July 2005 MicroEmissive Displays plc Appointment to the Board MicroEmissive Displays plc (MED or "the Company") announces the appointment ofWilliam (Bill) Miller to the Board as Chief Operating Officer of MicroEmissiveDisplays (MED) with immediate effect. As COO of MED, Mr Miller will overseeresearch, product development and manufacturing. Mr Miller, 49, brings over 21 years experience in semiconductor manufacturingand further strengthens the Company's executive team as it gears up to meet thechallenges of high growth consumer markets such as Digital Still Cameras andWearable viewers. Bill joins MED from Motorola's UK Semiconductor operations where as VicePresident and General Manager he developed and implemented manufacturingbusiness strategy during a period of significant change within the companyresulting in improved profitability, reduced infrastructure and cost. Bill Campbell, Chief Executive of MED, said: "We are delighted that Bill isjoining us to spearhead MED's product development and manufacturing. Hisexperience of running major semiconductor plants will be enormously valuable tous and demonstrates our ambition to build MED's global, polymer basedmicrodisplays business." As a board member of Motorola UK Ltd, reporting to the UK Chairman, Bill hadbroad exposure to and involvement with all areas of Motorola's businesses andextensive experience in managing a large P&L within the UK and Internationally. As a member of the European Leadership Team he was primarily active in definingand implementing regional strategies leading to impressive business results in a$1.5B sales organisation. Since the separation of this business and re-brandingas Freescale Semiconductors, he served a dual role, continuing to lead the UKOperations but additionally serving as Country Head for UK, Ireland, Netherlandsand Spain. Bill is currently a director of the National Microelectronics Institute.Previous directorships over the past five years were Motorola (UK) LTD andFreescale Semiconductors (UK).
