Intertek Group PLC09 June 2005 Intertek Group plc ("Intertek") 9 June 2005 Potential termination of Foreign Trade Standards contract with Venezuela The pre-shipment inspection contract held by the Foreign Trade Standardsdivision of Intertek with the Government of Venezuela may not be renewed afterthe end of August 2005. The Venezuelan customs and tax administration department(SENIAT) currently are considering not renewing the contract with any of thepre-shipment inspection companies. Intertek is in the meantime in discussionswith SENIAT to extend the contract. This contract accounted for approximately 2.5% of Intertek's turnover in 2004. As planned, Intertek will make a pre-close trading statement on 28th June 2005.
