APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Halma, the leading safety, health and sensor technology group, announces the appointment of Daniela Barone Soares as a non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 10 November 2011. She will join the Audit Committee.Daniela Barone Soares is Chief Executive of Impetus Trust, the pioneer venture philanthropists in the UK; this is an organisation that translates venture capital principles to the social sector. Her past business roles have included Head of Institutional Support at Save the Children, Assistant Vice President, Private Equity and Venture Capital at BancBoston Capital, Inc. and roles at Goldman, Sachs & Co. (New York) and Citibank, N.A. (Brazil).

Daniela is also on the advisory board or a trustee of a number of non-listed, social sector organisations in the UK and Brazil. She has a BSc in Economics from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
