Hays plc (the Company), the leading global specialist recruitment company, is pleased to announce that Joe Hurd will join the Board of Hays plc as an independent Non-Executive Director on 1 December 2021, and become a member of the Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees on appointment.

Joe Hurd, a US Lawyer, has spent most of his career in consumer-facing technology businesses, and has a broad global business experience and track record of scaling early-stage companies and established organisations, revenue growth and value creation at global Fortune 500 and private companies, including Facebook, Gannett, AOL, VideoEgg and Friendster. Joe began his career in corporate and securities law in London with Linklaters, after which he undertook his Federal clerkship for Judge William G. Young of the U.S. District Court in Boston, USA.

Joe is Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of Katama Group LLC, which he founded in 2004, where he advises start-ups on strategy and market positioning. Joe served in the Obama Administration from 2009 to 2012 in a variety of roles using his advisory skills to aid the interaction between government and global consumer businesses particularly with a view to increasing exports and resolving international policy issues.

Joe has been a non-executive director of Trustpilot Group plc since June 2021, and was, until its acquisition by Future plc in March 2021, a non-executive director of GoCo Group plc (GoCompare). Joe also serves as an independent director of SilverBox Engaged Merger Corp I.

The Company confirms that there is no further information about Joe Hurd requiring disclosure under paragraph 9.6.13 (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority.
