GUS PLC17 March 2005 GUS PLC: Transaction in Own Shares & Amendment to Previous Announcement GUS PLC announces that it has today purchased through Merrill Lynch 300,000ordinary shares at a price of 903.5645 pence per share. The purchased shareswill all be held as treasury shares. Following the above purchase, GUS PLC holds17,275,000 ordinary shares as treasury shares. The total number of ordinaryshares in issue (excluding shares held as treasury shares) is 999,944,560.
