Board changes at esure Group plc

esure Group plc ("esure Group") announces today that Dame Helen Alexander and Anthony Hobson will step down from their respective positions on the esure Group Board at the completion of the Annual General Meeting ("AGM") in May 2015.
Dame Helen Alexander will have completed three years as Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director. Dame Helen's role as Senior Independent Director will pass to Shirley Garrood at the completion of the 2015 AGM. Her role as Chair of the Remuneration Committee will pass to Mike Evans, with effect from1st January 2015.
Anthony Hobson will leave the Board after 12 years' service having been with esure Group through its MBO in 2010 and flotation on the London Stock Exchange in 2013. Anthony's departure will allow him to take up a new role in California, with his role as Chair of the Investment Committee passing to Anne Richards, also with effect from 1st January 2015.
esure Group has also received notification that Peter Wood, has expressed a desire and intention to remain in his role as the esure Group Chairman for the medium term.
Peter Wood said: "Dame Helen and Anthony have both been exceptionally valuable members of the esure Group Board. We will offer both our sincerest thanks and best wishes when they step away from the esure Group in 2015.
"Our Board has developed excellent strength and depth in recent years with the appointment of María Dolores Dancausa, Mike Evans, Shirley Garrood and Anne Richards. This has allowed a seamless transition within the Board.
"I remain fully committed to esure Group's progress and development with great personal confidence in a bright future for esure Group. I have therefore expressed to the Board my desire to continue to serve as Chairman for the medium term."
