Empyrean Energy PLC06 September 2006 Empyrean Energy PLC ("Empyrean" or the "Company"; Ticker: (EME)) Sugarloaf Hosston Prospect, Texas USA ------------------------------------- AIM quoted Empyrean Energy PLC today announces that at 6am Texas time on 5thSeptember, 2006 the Sugarloaf-1 exploration well, located in the onshore GulfCoast Basin in Texas, USA, was drilling ahead in 12-1/4" hole at 7,357 feet(2,243 metres). Since the last report, 13-3/8" casing has been set to 6500 feet(1,982 metres). The Sugarloaf well has a number of geologically independent targets, the firstof which is at 12,000 - 14,000 feet (3,600 - 4,300 metres) and is expected to bereached by mid September. The primary Hosston target is expected to be reached in early to mid October andthe total depth of 21,000 feet (6,400 metres) in early November.
