Appointment of Douglas Mitchell as a Non-Executive Director

The Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Douglas Mitchell as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 January 2012.

Douglas, aged 61, brings a wealth of experience to the James Cropper Board and the Company. Prior to his retirement in 2010 he was Managing Director of 3M UK and Ireland, following a high profile career within 3M that included many senior roles in General Management, Sales and Marketing, Logistics and Manufacturing.

"Douglas has direct experience of growing businesses in many sectors relevant to James Cropper PLC and its subsidiaries, not least Technical Fibre Products," commented Chairman Mark Cropper. "We are therefore delighted that he is joining our Board and we very much look forward to his support as we grow our enterprise in the coming years."

Douglas will also be a Director of James Cropper EBT Ltd, which acts as trustee of an Employee Benefit Trust.

He holds 1,000 ordinary shares of 25 pence each in the Company which represents 0.01% of the issued share capital.
