Olympic and Paralympic Games - Update

 

 

Pinnacle Technology Group plc, (AIM: PINN) the AIM listed provider of cloud based technology solutions, is pleased to give an update on the services it is providing in support of the Olympic Games.

 

BBC Stratford Broadcast Tower

The BBC Stratford Broadcast Tower is a 22-storey building situated at the edge of the Olympic Park with commanding views overlooking the Olympic Stadium, the Aquatics Centre and the Orbit Tower.

Pinnacle is supplying BBC International with the resilient fibre connections; microwave back-up links, analogue and ISDN connectivity to the Stratford Broadcast Tower's offices, studios and production crews for the world's media. Pinnacle is also supplying IP telephone switchboards, telephone handsets and data connections.

All the services were installed on schedule ahead of the Games and Pinnacle is pleased to confirm that all its data networks are achieving top performance levels.

The Africa Village

Pinnacle is also pleased to announce that it is supplying satellite, data and WiFi connectivity to the Africa Village, consisting of Africa Land and Africa House. For the very first time in the history of the Olympic Games, the 53 African NOCs (National Olympic Committees) are hosting their own Village for the duration of the Games. Open to the publicAfrica Land is designed to highlight Africa's cultural, artistic and sports assets, with booths representing all African countries, as well as exhibitions, modern and traditional music concerts and folk dances.Alan Bonner, CEO of Pinnacle Telecom Group plc said, "We are delighted to be supporting the African National Olympic Committees in this innovative initiative.
