BOC, the industrial gas company, announced last week a major redevelopment totriple the production capacity of its key East coast LNG (liquefied natural gas)production facility from 50 tonnes per day to 150 tonnes per day. BOC is part ofthe Linde Group and the upgrade of this plant follows Linde's development ofanother LNG plant, due to open in 2008, in Western Australia. The BOC press release commented "The main beneficiaries will be the emergingfleet fuelling market. LNG is significantly cheaper than diesel for heavyhaulage, however there has been very limited supply available constraining itsuse. The environment will also benefit, as LNG releases 20% less greenhousegases compared with diesel powered trucks." BOC is part of the Linde Group, a world leading industrial gases and engineeringcompany operating in around 70 countries worldwide. The plant will be on line inAugust 2009. In September Clean Air Power announced that Mitchell Corp Pty Ltd, one of itslargest Australian customers had exercised their option to order an additional20 units following on from their initial order of 50 units announced in January2007. The Company believes that this represents a clear indication that the widermarket is reacting positively to the increased sales momentum being achieved byClean Air Power's Dual-Fuel(TM) technology.
