Board Appointment
Brooks Macdonald Group plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Colin Harris as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
Colin R Harris (56), who is a qualified solicitor, was senior legal counsel at international insurance brokers Alexander & Alexander Inc (now part of Aon) before joining Newton Investment Management in 1985. He undertook a number of senior management roles at Newton before becoming Chief Executive and Deputy Chairman.
Colin retired from Newton in 2002, by which time funds under management had increased to £22 billion of institutional, private client and retail funds.
In addition to his previous experience in fund management, Colin has a non-executive role at Longbow Capital LLP, a leading venture capital business.
Commenting on the appointment Chris Knight, Chairman of Brooks Macdonald, said:
"Colin has a wealth of highly relevant experience in the fund management sector that will be of great benefit to Brooks Macdonald. I am delighted that he has agreed to join the Board."
