FORscene provides web-based platform in tapeless production
Leading UK production company uses Forbidden Technologies' platform in tapeless production
Forbidden Technologies today announced that Initial; an Endemol company, one of the UK's leading independent production companies, is using FORscene for the production of Football's Next Star for Sky One.
The production team shot footage across the UK and Italy using Sony XDCAM-EX and HDCAM. Tapeless rushes were uploaded into FORscene using FORscene Load-Linux at post-production facility Crow TV. Tape-based rushes were simultaneously digitised into local storage and into FORscene for logging and shot-selection.
FORscene's logging and rough-cut editing tools provide access to rushes through a web-browser. This has enabled all members of the production team to monitor and work on content during location shooting.
Tom Leeburn, Production Manager at Endemol, said:
"FORscene has opened up our content to all of the production team, allowing them to view content, whether from tape or tapeless media. We made full use of the ability to search through our logs to help us manage our media."

'Football's Next Star' is produced by Initial, an Endemol company broadcasting on Sky One, January 2010.
