Ascent Resources Plc (LON: AST) the onshore Hispanic American and European focussed energy and natural resources company, is pleased to announce the intended appointment of Jean-Michel Doublet as an independent non-executive director of the Company. Jean-Michel has strong M&A experience, working with independent oil and gas companies, focussing on emerging markets.

The Company also announces that Stephen Birrell has decided to step down from the Board with immediate effect.

A further announcement in respect of Jean-Michel's intended appointment to the Board, which is subject to regulatory checks, will be made in due course.
