MICROGEN LAUNCHES THREE NEW MICROGEN APTITUDE SOFTWARE MODULES

Microgen plc (Microgen' or 'the Group') today launches three new modules for its flagship Business Process Platform, Microgen Aptitude. The new modules provide substantial performance improvements on the already market-leading capability of Microgen Aptitude and maintain Microgen's position as the technology leader in this category. The modules build on the performance and functionality of Microgen Aptitude Version 3.0, introduced in June 2010.

The new Microgen Aptitude Version 3.0 Modules are:

Microgen Aptitude DBClarity - This new capability within Microgen Aptitude functionality positions Microgen at the forefront of the emerging technology of in-database analytics, providing substantial performance improvements to database-intensive applications. Through its graphical interface, Microgen Aptitude DBClarity addresses one of the major functional weaknesses of current in-database analytics which are written in the database language resulting in a lack of transparency and auditability for non-programmers. For the first time, a business will be able to address this weakness and develop high performance in-database analytical applications via a graphical interface thereby reducing operational risk, speeding up the analysis process and improving collaboration between the business and IT.

Microgen Aptitude PerformancePLUS - Building on the market leading performance of Microgen Aptitude Version 3.0, the Microgen Aptitude PerformancePLUS module delivers transaction processing speeds that are up to a further 30 per cent faster. Such speeds are critical in high-volume and complex transaction environments such as digital media and retail banking. This performance improvement is achieved by, amongst other leading edge developments, the adoption of Microgen's innovative fast enrichment process, for which a patent has been filed making a total of 12 patents now filed associated with the Microgen Aptitude technology.

Microgen Aptitude BPD & SOA Orchestration - This module enables SOA orchestration from entities within the Business Process Diagram (BPD) providing the ability to merge new and old technologies, such as the integration of cloud services with legacy systems to create an agile environment that can respond rapidly to the speed of business change. With Microgen Aptitude BPD & SOA Orchestration, both IT and business users can now build and deploy flexible applications quickly within a Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) environment.

These new modules for Microgen Aptitude maintain Microgen's technology leadership position at the forefront of high volume processing in complex transaction environments. Microgen's market-leading capability has been further extended in terms of both performance and functionality. Furthermore, in-database analytics are increasingly being adopted as a necessary development to increase performance of database-intensive applications and Microgen has addressed one of the major limitations of current market solutions.
