Advanced Power Components plc, the UK specialist distributor and manufacturers' representative of electronic components, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Davidson, as a Non-Executive Director of the Company, with immediate effect.

Mr. Davidson brings valuable expertise to the Company, having approximately 40 years of experience in the electronics industry, primarily with Addtron where he was group managing director until that company's acquisition by Gleichmann Sunrise. Most recently he has acted as a consultant to the Company's Hero and Displays+ sales teams.

APC's Chairman, Will David, said, "I am delighted to welcome Ian to the board and I am confident that his knowledge and expertise will assist the Company in the creation of further shareholder value."

Mr. Davidson has been granted options over 25,000 ordinary shares of 2 pence each in APC at an exercise price of 10 pence each under the Company's share option scheme.

The following information is provided pursuant to paragraph (g) Schedule Two of the AIM rules:

John (Ian) McLaren Davidson (aged 67).

Real Thing (Ale) Limited, a wholesale and retail supplier of beers and wines, at which Mr. Davidson was a director at the time, was wound up in 1982 with debts of approximately £20,000.

There is no further information that is required to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph (g) Schedule Two of the AIM rules in relation to Mr. Davidson.
