There is light at the end of the tunnel.
There will be lots of lobbying, not least from the big miners like Newcrest, RIO, BHP et al. The President wants it, the Chair of the CC wants it. No doubt some of the local communities see it as a way to prosperity too.
The court is requesting that the question be brought to their attention regarding the cessation or promotion of mining in various regions, one of them is Cascabel. This "question" will then be deliberated on, by the CC and Minister for mining to determine if it has merit (in the interests of the country (not region)).
IF it does warrant further viability then it will go further up the chain of command to be voted on by the politicians and a final decision made to dictate who gets permits, and for which regions.....if any!!
I for one strongly believe the Ecuadorian government will see common sense and allow mining to continue albeit in a controlled manner as a means to drag their country out of their debt laden economy.
BUT.....and here's the rub.....this is not a western styled country, many forces are at play and consequently, we cannot 2nd guess how they might behave.
I salute those of you who remain steadfast and hope to weather the storm, especially those on here who have put their savings, pensions and pet cat into the mix. If all turns out OK, this stock will surely fly like an eagle and I will rejoin. If it drops like a stone..........you only have one person to blame.
GLA, I genuinely hope you make it thru to the other side. Hold tight.
