Read what happened @ SXX. I was a s/h for some time there but sold at 22p many, many months ago.
The process to take a raw material to mass production by a tiddler, requires the same process that SXX went thru. In the short to medium term it has and will strip the minnow shareholders of serious value before the value of the company inexorably begins to claw back its lost ground.
Taking SOLG to production will dilute our value, we don't want that do we?

Unless JW is leading the market astray, it does indeed look like this project is going to production. In that case, God help us all as we would follow in the footsteps of SXX when it comes to financing and dilution.
Alternatively - funding Alpala to production would leave very little wriggle room for any other major project waiting in the aisles as all NM's efforts and spare cash would be locked into Alpala.

Personally - I think he will sell Alpala and with the proceeds - look to another project to develop fully.....

Cookie - exactly. Why else would they go all the way to the big Apple? As much as I don't want NM to take this to production - he must be going over there to sniff for cash to prop his plans up.

Why not sell Alpala and make sufficient to pay for his next endeavour up the road and take that to production if he wants to leave a legacy for his kids / industry?

So SOLG are doing a roadshow in NY. As mentioned by AKGold earlier.
Could this mean that on the back of the PEA he wants to go it alone all the way to production because of what they have found @ Alpala and they now need serious investors to back them?

How's about this:

Maybe NM is ill or something and they are looking at ways of running the company without him!
Maybe they can't get financial support for their plans?
Maybe a buyer wants all of Solg but NM wants to sell only Cascabel?

Of course "I'm in", have been for several years - and that's the problem, it's taking forever (latterly) to get the show on the damn road.
I'm sure SOLG are ticking all the boxes (permits/environmentalism/local employment/courting majors/attracting financial backing/recruiting the right team/making the right sounds at mining conferences) but the longer this drags on, the more chance there is of further problems - and a new president could be a major problem....IF....IF we don't have our ducks in a row by then.
Like 99% of LTH's in SOLG, this is a punt. No-one is doing a PhD in SOLG, nobody really cares about the long term effects the mines will have on the Ecuadorian topography or the indigenous peoples. They don't wake at night anxious about the effects on the water table or long term economic benefits of the nation as a whole, that's for sure. They simply want to make as much money out of this 'punt' as soon as possible.....and move on. It's ugly but it's true. The clock is ticking and our patience is wearing thin. FFS SOLG.....act, or at the very least.....throw us some crumbs!!!

Calm down. Look at the previous president (correa) - seeking assylum in Belgium. Wanted for kidnapping and corruption.
If Moreno is deposed in 2 years time by another 'correa', who knows where the country may decide to go? Ecuador is very lucky they have a "Moreno" in charge, he is pro western and an astute buiness man. He also courts environmentalism, so appeases the locals on the one hand whilst understanding that the future prosperity of Ecuador lies in mining - responsible mining.
A future 'nutter' could reverse a lot of the good work Moreno is doing. SOLG needs to be sorted by then. I, for one, would be happier to be out of SOLG before then.

Earthling - no point in the majors "liasing with government' or getting 'too friendly' as there is a GE in 2 years and everyone knows how unstable the region is (relatively). This government could be gone only to be replaced by someone who is less co-operative perhaps?

That is one of the reasons Assange was thrown out of the Ecuadorian embassy.
This morning Radio 4 journalist interviewed Moreno and this was the list of some of the reasons Assange was kicked out:
1. He was becoming more and more aggressive towards the embassy staff. He bullied them and continuously swore at them.
He was filming them against their wishes.
He was spreading disinformation from the embassy about other governments including Ecuador.
He managed to get a picture of Moreno and his family celebrating Moreno's birthday where his wife ordered a lobster for dinner in their bedroom together with their children.
Finally - get this...Assange had "spread his business across his walls in his room" in the embassy. Make of that what you want.
