On the other hand, another (giant for example) might take another view:

SOLG calculations are advertised as + or - 35%.
Copper based on $3.30.
Mine life 'could' be as low as 25 years.
$2billion a year cannot be the true value because inflation takes hold and also the quality of the mined ore degrades over time.

Ergo - the profit reduces markedly.

The other issue that should be considered, is: are there 'better value' large deposits available - globally and in a more stable environment, that the majors are looking at, as we speak?.
Ecuador isn't one of the last remaining mining places for no reason???

Note* I continue to have faith in SOLG but only as a possible takeover prospect. Hold.

Agree with some of your sentiments, particularly going to production (not). I, like you, believe SOLG won't be able to find the backing to take this much further fwd.
Looking at the presentation - (a) it is honest and open...and (b) the comparison charts show Cascabel to be "fairly average" IMO.
Cu they are 8th and 9th in the world (with quite weak grades to be honest).

The "shining light" in all of this is tile number 23 of 24, which shows the 'potential' of SOLG when taking into account all their other exciting prospects (as yet not fully discovered).

Maybe this is why the giants are bidding their time regards a takeover. They might be asking: Do we want to spend £2+ billion buying out SOLG(Alpala) and and then another £7 billion taking it to production (with fairly average deposits), when we could take them out "en masse" and buy the whole shebang for probably £10Billion???

Babes - calm down. I was trying to evoke an air of lightheartedness about the issue. I don't know how many there are, I made it 3 because that is about the size of their loyal fanzene! And as has been raised - their glorious leader is an illegal miner (but I don't believe that technically, he has been charged and sentenced for such a crime, has he. If so, I stand corrected). There is no right of appeal............for that particular case. However there is nothing stopping a new appelant from raising a new application which comes at the problem from another perspective.

Methinks - having done some digging of course, that the plaintiff's aren't taking the result lying down. They are going to regroup (all 3 of them) and take another pop at the government but get the grammar and spelling right this time :).

I have always been up front about my transactions. I bought and sold early on and eventually shorted the stock. Now I am out of it, I need to get back in before it runs away from me.
I accept that, I have planned for that because I expected bad news. Is there a problem with this?

I was going to stop tomorrow but it's too close to the result. and leaks will definitely occur.

I'm out at the mo. Watching over the next few days.

Relieved it went SOLG's way finally, for all those who have invested for so long. Especially those few who have put their kitchen sink into this - relief must be enormous (KB and Q).!
Great too for those with cojones who bought extra as the SP nose dived.
I made good money - shorting the stock and eventually pulled the plug yesterday once news came that the decision was to be made today - thanks for the heads up on that (whoever?).
I was preparing therefore for bad news.
Now I've got to get back in soonest to mitigate any damage.
I'm guessing a 15% - 20% jump tomorrow am. So 34-35p looks possible.

Long term - it can only get better now that this dead weight has been lifted off SOLG's shoulders.

CGP was up 5% two hours ago, now it's up 2.5%. So the stock isn't recovering as you say....
