I think I get the jist of what you are saying. I guess if you were a trader working for a company - it's difficult to manipulate the market due to compliance and hence most if not all traders end up making a legitimate living on a legitimate salary.
But those traders working solo - must be manipulating often (provided of course their 'pot' was sufficient) and must make big bucks.
Fiddling around the lower echelons of the market (like here @ SOLG) can't be too lucrative, I would have thought?? Much bigger 'game' elsewhere - yes?

I tend not to second guess the final outcome - when it comes to shares. Maybe it's because I have been 'burned' on a couple of occasions in the past and have now made it my motto to invest (sorry - gamble) only what I can afford to lose. Sometimes it's tempting to dive in and break that rule (like here @ GGP) but I have managed to distract myself before pressing the 'buy' button. I sleep very well at night, I have to say.
For those who have thrown the litchen sink at this and any other stock(s) - I hope you have applied some kind of restraint/rule to your methods, for if it does go t i t s up, you have only yourself to blame.
Having said that - gambling (and ramping) are very addictive!!!

Last time I looked, NM had zillions of shares in SOLG and his other management company which holds a major chunk of SOLG. He has occasionally commented that the SP shouldn't be where it is currently, so he is 'concerned' or has a VERY vested interest in the direction of travel. So why do you say: NM doesn't give 2 hoots how this goes?

Genuine question: I notice on several bb's that some posters comment that the MM's "manipulate" or "hold down" the SP.....Does anyone out there honestly believe there are operators out there.....manipulating stock??
Because if this was the case: (a) it would have been investigated years ago and those responsible - punished....and (b) those who managed to manipulate before being found out.....would have made millions if not billions...which obviously not the case. So why do some posters continue to believe that the market(s) is rigged?

Quady, let me illuminate you further:
I've been with this 'dog' of a share (should have put it down a while back) for around 5 years (from memory). I've bought and sold on innumerable occasions - mainly on the rumour). I'm averaging out at 26p currently. If you'd read my posts way back then, you'd have realised then that (a) this was a punt for me and (b) not a lot of dosh outlay in the great scheme of things, considering my background. I have been in gambling, oops sorry...shares for a very long time and do it as a distraction from my business unlike some in here who have invested their family estate, pensions and kids......
I feel the stock will fetch £3 ish around the start of production in 2025-26. But as I mentioned....could go even higher when it is in full production and other tenements come online....this is why I have parked my stock in a lay by for the foreseeable. Currently the stock has lost its magic and excitement and has become a pain in the whatsit (together with several posters).
I've found a lot more excitement across the pond in aussie as you can see from my portfolio. Thankfully it's all hands to the pump there and each day brings something new worth reading. Plus the folk on there (for some reason) are more 'balanced' to put it kindly.
The quickest way to 'move on' and to put us all out of our misery is to sell to a major soonest (and well before the elections), for 50p and be done with it FFS.
Otherwise - may on here will have died or caught covid in their care homes before the SP moves significantly...and this includes NM!

Quady - no I'm not out of SOLG (unfortuynately). I have a small holding of around half a million which cost me peanuts many many moons ago.....and there lies the rub. It is taking fgorever and a day to shift this stock to anywhere near exciting. Having listened to the webinar, I nearly fell asleep twice listening to that dull and dreary NM voice. Thank god he doesn't run a country (only a company)!
I, like the Colonel and AK, have become very frustrated with him, to say the least.
The only reason I will leave my spare cash in this dog of a share is because a little voice inside my head occasionally reminds me that SOLG is sitting on a unique project (Alpala et al) and when the time comes, this stock will go stratospheric (£3+ a share, post production, if not more).....and so I'll park my dosh here for the foreseeable. I don't post much now, for two reasons - the ostriches have bugg e erd off, thank god. The candlestick makers have gone quiet too - hooray for that, so I see no need to have a pop anymore. This stock will continue to flop ******* around atleast until DFS (Q2+/2021). so nothing new will appear. Blot on the landscape - Elections in Feb 2021. I don't care what the international community wants from Ecuador...if they get a nutter in charge - all bets are off. This for me means none of the II's will committ until the dust settles after the elections. Long long haul guys.

Whatever NM, BHP et al are not seeing eye to eye about - it's not professional having the spat in public. It's also not big or clever. Burning bridges does not make for a soft landing if the wheel comes off in future. I know it "probably won't" but any sucvcessful businessman knows you keep your friends close and your enemies closer still (if he has made enemies out of them...and after that re-tweet, I'm sure he's fired them up, now).
Maybe NM is so confident that his plan is a done deal and past the point of no return - he really can do without the two majors....but he's playing with fire, methinks.
Remember, he hired Citi to prevent a hostile takeover - but it's not bullet proof.................................................................yet.

Just out this evening. BoE boss, Andrew Bailey stating that they will take the entire debt that the government is ratcheting up due to Covid-19 and it will be spread over a long period without affecting plans to do away with austerity. In other words, the government can contionue with its budget plans advertised before the CV hit.
This must trickle down to the FTSE at some stage?

Listened to SB's presentation twice but must have missed it, I guess.

From what I could determine, SB was quite calm and even guarded about all his projects except Red C where he nearly lost the plot (from excitement). I know we all love Havieron here.....but I didn't get the same level of excitiement others did just from this specific presentation. To me it sounded like Havieron was great......just great....not earth shattering....which is what a lot on here seem to be supporting? No?
Red C and the other one he mentioned with 54 million ounces of reserves is where he wet his pants!!
