@10m oz and Gold @ £1300/oz, extraction costs: $1000/oz. Profit: $300/oz.
Havieron worth $3billion?
NCM will be in possession of 75% by then.
GGP own 25% = $750 million.
4 billion shares - 19cents/share (15p/share).

@15million oz: NPV: $4.5bn.
GGP: @25%: 28cents/share (22p/share).

@20 million
GGP worth: 30p/share.

Therein lies the rub Quady - there will be some dilution!!!! Think about it- what will SOLG bring to the party once the button to produce has been pressed: infrastructure, workforce, transportation, roads, security........er, not SOLG. That'll be the majors job. So the JV (if it goes down that road) will have to reflect this.
There will be MASSIVE dilution if SOLG JV. Sell Alpala now, bypassing all the problems ahead, be they sociopolitical or geographical and move onto their other 74 tenements with dosh in the bank - SP: 50p.
Or JV, SP flop ****s around 40-50p for the next 5+ years while PI's die of boredom.
Once the mine produces - that's when the stock will light up and I guess for some here....they are prepared to wait another 5 years after the last 5 they have been spending talking jibberish on this site..........

Anyway - of course, what you say makes sense (in the world as we know it) but I need not remind you that there are serious anomalies out there, ones that nobody could have foretold: Bolsonaro / Maduro / Duterte / Trump. These people don't think like 'others'....and I am sure that under their due dilligence - majors have to take this into account, especially with it being Ecuador.

Ice - read the bumph....SOLG and GGP might be listed under the mining index as 'miners'....but they are NOT, never have been and NEVER will be miners....in the production sense.
Show me where the word "producer/production' appear on either of their web sites.
GGP will either sell itself to NCM or sell Havieron to NCM and move on to Scally. SOLG are in the same boat: They will either sell Alpala to a major and move on or sell themselves (JV) to a major. They will never go it alone......they don't have any money.

Quady - thanks for that, saved me trawling through the webinar. Good to hear they feel like that but Ecuador won't change overnight....and still locals are pushing for a national referendum for mining. All of this must have an effect on how the majors will play their hand.

New to GGP so be gentle!
1. I got the impression that GGP was Australian - but why are all their offices in London?
2. Why do NCM use the likes of GGP as middlemen during finds like this, when they could either have swallowed up the GGP's of this world a long time ago, or alternatively....invent their own discovery department to do exactly what GGP have done and negate the need to "buy into" GGP? [What is the purpose of minnows like GGP when majors could be doing all the exploring/discovering/research themselves?]

Ice: Firstly GGP isn't a mining company. Where did you get that? For the same reasons that SOLG isn't and never has been a mining company!
Secondly, why don't you 'pop' over to the GGP forum and DYOR....you'll understand that when the dust settles and NCM have 75% of GGP, the remaining 25% that GGP have will be worth BILLIONS not millions. Keep up please keep up.

Count this major out.....for SOLG.

Their recent successful debt funding is allocated for GGP, not SOLG. GGP is a far safer bet.....1. mining in Aussie.
2. ALL the infrastructure in situ, based on their depleting Telfor mine.
3. Much closer to actual production (2023).
GGP waiting patiently for news that after stage 4, NCM will buy Havieron out...QED.

From this perspective, SOLG is a slow motion version of GGP (but without NCM).

WRT your suggestion that the (then) government might consider a referendum to the people, about mining, bear in mind latino's don't think like us capitalists! There may be a backlash against mining in favour of the artisan miners just to p i s s the government off and get rid of their leader. Be careful what you wish for!!
If you recall, not so long ago, the illegal mining fraternity kicked off against national mining and the share price tumbled. I would also imagine that ongoing discussions about SOL's other tenemnets are fruitless until and unless mining permits are granted. This limits SOLG's options perhaps.

Colonel: Whoever donates the $150 million - won't sit back and watch BHP take SOLG out in October!! Whoever hands over the dosh, will be the frontrunner for the whole purchase (either of the company or a JV). BHP must be getting nervous about who this new donator is....because if its the Chinese - BHP, RIO or Barrick won't get a look in!

Ecuador is a weak latin american country with corruption all the way to the top.
Until and unless the future leader can be convinvced this mining malarley is their saviour.....it's going to see saw in the doldrums for ages. Trouble is... NM desperately needs cash ASAP.

Interesting responses to Marky's post. While I would generally agree with what Marky has said (all just gambling), Marky needs to accept that some here, really have done a lot of research and investigation - and based on their findings, made a calculated investment. Now that isn't gambling, that is shrewd buisness sense - no different from preparing to take an exam after revising, or doing up a house to sell etc. Good planning reduces the risks of failure. On the other hand, having been on these forums for over 11 years now - the VAST majority of contributors are completely out of their depth, have absloutely NO idea what they are doing but pretend to have sufficient knowledge to 'hang in there' with the genuine players. It is what it is but let's not fool ourselves - putting money into companies like this - for most, the vast majority, it is a stab in the dark.
And that's not a bad thing in itself - provided you have taken precautions of course: Play with money that you can afford to lose......and no-one gets hurt in the making of this story!
