Very positive about these options being issued at a much higher quantity than last time. This keep employees sweet and committed in the run up to a potential bid after MRE2 and PEA. Id estimate 80% likely we'll have a bid by February. Keeps the right balance between shareholders and employees. Sends a supportive signal to employees and part sets the price for that bid. No bid until after AGM and Board options being approved. Given the skill with which Nick has managed all of the competing issues here I am wholly in favour of supporting the Board with this options issue.

In any other share the day traders would have sold by now - where are they? Just shows you there are a lot of committed investors here who understand this share deeply. Many thanks again to those who have built up some incredible knowledge and done so much work to publicise this share especially recently - you know who you all are. I am recent to this BB and have been hugely impressed by the research that has gone on. There is now some real momentum and still with so much positive news to come. We can become the poster-company of the new SA (I hope!).

With all these larger sells going through apparently without an obvious buyer as SP rises I wonder if there is some stake-building going on?

Alfa Thanks for the info on the trades and MM's. And also the great work in helping build some real momentum behind BMN. This is no ordinary company - I'd say it has the best informed PI's out there of any company.

It looks to my untutored eye that every trade of 100k or more today has been delayed by an hour. Is this just the way it works or is something more going on in the background? Like most, I don't trust MM's!

Posting this for info. I don't know Brian Menell, SA mining veteran but he says he is building a battery materials giant, admittedly over the next 5 years and also admittedly requiring significant funding to get off the ground. Wonder if anyone better qualified than I could comment on whether this may be a longer term competitor to BMN?

Just read this myself and saw you had beaten me to it! Good to receive positive reassurance from Ecuador Govt on the future development of mining and setting targets to contribute to the growth of the economy. Governance is one of the biggest risk factors and this helps to mitigate it a little bit more. (Of course we have our own risk factors in the UK just now!) Also very positive for SOLG are the comments on environmental issues, an area I think SOLG is much stronger in.

Hi schlemiel It may also be that they paid 45p as they see that as being at a significant discount to the longer-term realisable value from SOLG. Impossible to see that value declining below 45p short of a major economic meltdown.

Primesymian The 2 factors I saw that affected recent SP moves this month were the 2 sets of options with deadline dates this month (particularly the latter set which expire today) and general market volatility. I can't comment on the latter but the exercise of options that has likely taken place over the last couple of weeks removes a significant cause of short-term downside from the SP. I would expect gentle SP upside, boosted by a likely RNS or 2 over the next few weeks in advance of MRE2.

BBN Thanks also from me for your insights into where we BE may end up. A well-reasoned series of logical points. I'd recommend listening to Pres Ramaphosa's address this week to get an insight into his current thinking and how that may impact BMN. In particular it is worth emphasising BBN's final point - 'but BE is essentially South African and that is what Ramaphosa really wants'. There is no doubt in my mind that is a significant advantage for BE that their competitors simply don't have.

mog999 Thanks for this - well-spotted. It's one thing talking about a doubling of gold/copper coming in MRE2 but another thing actually putting the figures on a slide 12.3 to 25m oz. Looks definite to me. Looks like we are already there and the next few weeks will be upside. I think it has made sense to delay any news (if that is what has happened) until the options have unwound. Looking forward to something positive next week.

BBN Thanks again for your post and spot on with the comments on vertical integration re vanadium. This provides strength and resilience against the unpredictabilities of the market. What I also liked about the President's speech earlier was how you could clearly see how much it meant to him that South Africans both men (and he emphasised women too) are part of the highly-skilled future he is trying to build. BMN again is well-placed to be a model to hold up in shining lights of the best in South African industry.

BBN Thanks for the response - great insights. Agree that JSE listing should make a big difference, particularly if accompanied by a gradual increase in confidence from local and international investors - maybe energised by the impending conference? I guess the overall market mood is not helping just now but will likely change next month.

Thanks for the hard work and time that has gone into your 8 pages of posts on Eskom and related issues - one of the best-researched and thoughtful posts on any BB that I have seen. It does seem that all the ducks have been getting lined up in a row for some time now and are becoming gradually more visible as time goes on. Your posts got me thinking about strategy and planning for FM and the Board. Are there any other big announcements for BMN that it would be beneficial to release in advance of the BE strategy next month? I'm thinking of earlier posts on the vanadium supply chain - can't recall the names of the companies mentioned. Whatever, the more I read and see of this company the more impressed I am by their forward planning and ability to join the dots in advance and make the right relationships at the right time. Thanks again.

Nobby63 Likewise another 4k for me. Next month I think it unlikely we will see a price like this.
