S4 Not sure if you remember Anna presenting round about 4-5 October but I wrote a few things down which stuck in my mind. She said in particular that initial Capex costs for Alpala would be c$2.8bn. I thought that was pretty good at the time but having heard Nick's totally excellent webinar now I am hoping for less than that. Hannam estimated $2.3bn in their initiation on 10 October which given Anna's comments looked a bit tight. Anything around that figure would be terrific.

Appreciate your thoughts on options but completely out of sync with my own. Glad we don't all think the same way! Seem to be agreeing with Shippy for once!

Nick's webinar has given me even more confidence (not that it was needed) about investing in SOLG. My own average is just below the current SP so I will be holding for as long as it takes. Whether the SP goes up or down over the next month or 2, it is only going one way after that as news comes out and more excitement builds. Still a great opportunity to get in for new holders. It's not just Nick - he has a strong supporting team.

Tempting fate but I can't see this in the 2's. SP action is looking a bit schizophrenic to me now. People are either committed now or have given up. However those that have given up will be gone by early next week. It's all on the upside after that. I even see a rise in SP pre-Xmas on no further ews. If there has been shorting (I don't know but some are talking of this) it will surely rise.

Strange trades appearing after close. 5.4m just after 1200 at 4.25p. I am likely completely wrong but could this be an MM grabbing some of the placing from a quick seller to plug a hole caused by a short? If so they'll likely need more that 5.4m. Also an odd trade at 4.0p for 1.25m. Not sure what's going on but does feed my suspicion that there is MM shenanigans at play here. Nothing new then.

What is really encouraging to me, and this is unlike any other share I know, is that when there is a tree-shake or mini tree-shake such as the drop below 42p for the last hour of trading today very few existing PI's are selling. I counted 5 sells out of 35 trades. I know that's an estimate but it seems crystal clear that it is the MM's who are keeping a lid on the sp just now by selling warrant/weak holder shares in round numbers (with a few others added in) - and they really piled in first thing after the RNS as you rightly pointed out earlier. I am hugely encouraged by the solidity of our PI's. This is not blind faith on my part - there is real substance to BMN right now and over the medium-term. SP movements in the last week or so are not real and will turn around when buying picks up. There is no substance to this sp drop.

In case anyone is looking at buying/selling just now, I have just bought 110k and 111k at 4.5p - this is showing as a sell - these are buys.

Last night's award will no doubt play out very well back in SA with those that are being courted by BMN and who support what they are doing for the country and potentially wider region.

addicknt Thanks for stating in a much more articulate way than I could that NM appears to be soliciting a hostile bid - I appreciate that may be putting it strongly but the effect is the same. I was discussing this with my other half last night and given months of discussions on SOLG (which I am sure she is thoroughly bored of!) we agree he is one canny operator and by hook or crook there will be bid action on this within the next 2 moths. Do we really think he wants to make 3 significant hires and turn the company into a developer? My own thoughts on shareholder return don't align with FR - the big returns come pre-development not as the asset is producing imho. Anyway I am acting on my beliefs and appreciate and learn from all others on this board even those with different viewpoints so keep them coming (in a civilised way!).

My understanding is that a bid can still be received and approved by the Board from other than BHP/Newcrest (for whatever reason) so future remains uncertain. All just speculation and 1 day reality will take over.

Alfa I know you'll have spotted this already but every buy trade at 43.00p for 2 hours mid-afternoon? No movement. Really? Wonder if there is a MM of the Year award - ah well maybe not...

This feels to me like a family win. I feel part of the BMN family and am almost as pleased for them all (and us) as I would be for colleagues I work with! Well done all who have made this possible.

addicknt Thanks for highlighting - I must have missed that comment maybe making my coffee at the time! I agree with your sentiment. Haven't heard that said either. Nick is a canny operator and may well do all he can to reject a hostile bid but he wouldn't be alone - BHP and others wouldn't stand back and let SOLG go cheap either so in a sense he is maybe looking for a hostile bid as much as he'd refute it. Games people play but whatever happens will be good for shareholders - just the timeline that is uncertain.

Final thought from me on this. Nick took control of answering more questions at the end of the session - maybe so that he could say what he wanted to say about low bids/Cascabel etc? His audience was perhaps wider than just the PI's listening in.

The structure/ownership of share capital can also provide some defence and SOLG is reasonably w;; placed to resist a hostile bid imho.

But that's not to say that a major co won't offer a fantastic price - and he won't speculate on what that is -= he said he 'is not keen to sell at silly low prices. Lots of info here. Still on for SOLG sale but only at a higher price and only once enough has proved up imho.

NM now confirmed he is not generally in favour of spin-outs as these erode value so no sale of Cascabel although he did say it would be offer dependant.

I picked up NM's comments that all shareholders own SOLG and not Alpala. Then he stressed that this is a major Copper/Gold major creation opportunity that doesn't exist anywhere else in the world. Would re-rate as Cu price rebounds. I read into his comments that there is not too much interest in spinning off Alpala/Cascabel - it's all or nothing. Just my interpretation.

I'm looking for a drill update pre-Xmas in line with what the company said a few weeks back. Not sure we'll see any partnerships until early 2019 and agree with comments that if there is a placing it will not be significant. I have confidence that TM will carefully consider the alternatives before opting for the funding route and do what's best for shareholders. I'm really encouraged by TM's positive views on partner interest. Looks like it's a question of negotiating the right deal. Managed a decent top up this morning despite only lower volumes being available.

Right now 43.125p to buy/43.1p to sell. Agree fully Endion. What a spread! News on the way. Last chance maybe for MM's?
