Alfa Thanks for this. The mad rush to sell almost at any price pre-year end seems to have calmed for now. Will it return? The market was orderly today (although the 15:45 trade reported at 16:29 looked odd) for a change. Worth keeping an eye on the next few days but we could be back on an upward trend closer to the underlying value of the company.

BBN Terrific post and insight yet again. The market opportunity right now to ramp (can I use that word?) up V production makes it a no-brainer. What I am wondering is if 2019 does turn out to be a truly transformational year for Bushveld with VRFB/Brits/electrolyte plant/Brownfield/JSE and II involvement - how do you see Fortune and the team upsizing to cope with this? This would be a different company in a year or 2. They have done a great job so far but with many more plates to spin in the air do we need a bigger management team or alternate structure to make it all work? Does this make it more likely that Lemur will go sooner rather than later? I can't help also thinking in a election year some big inward investment news would be a real positive for Cyril Ramaphosa as well as Bushveld. I have a tingling feeling that we are set for some big news soon. Fortune needs to show that there is the capacity to handle that scale of growth and I hope this is set out in upcoming RNS's.

The Bushveld SP has not been behaving in an orderly fashion in recent weeks, neither has there been a fair or transparent market in this share. That is why a potential complaint to the FCA is being progressed. There has been a lot of useful learning to be gained by tracking the sp in a real-time basis in recent weeks and that's why I mentioned it in my post. I can accept that there is a degree of sp massaging by MM's on any share but here it has gone far beyond that. I wouldn't normally pay so much attention to real time moves but it has been helpful to do so in recent weeks. I accept that no-one including myself has the time to do that for every share they track.

I have found this to be the best-informed board I have ever used and appreciate the efforts of many to research and dig out hard to find information and share it with the board. We don't always need to agree with every opinion to find it useful. Live and let live is my motto. Best wishes.

Looking at recent L2 behaviour it appears that it is BMO Capital Markets that are trying to keep a lid on the share price - they have been active at the top of bid and offer in recent weeks pushing the sp down when they get the chance. Who knows why? Maybe they have a seller or are acting for someone who has an interest in a lower sp? Just speculating.

addicknt Definitely worth focussing on risk both from environmental and political concerns. Thanks for your very helpful post and insights. I looked at the maps re Cascabel at the time and share your view that there appears to be no apparent risk in this area. I didn't look into the other areas at the time given the value at Cascabel. I agree this will be on the company's risk register and the mitigations will be establishing positive relations and economic opportunities for locals - which SOLG appears to be doing very well - and engaging with ministers and officials - again which SOLG appears to be ding well. I suspect any potential sudden change to risk profile which could come would be political rather than environmental. Much harder to predict this. I am happy to hold as the risk/reward is very positive and risk seems manageable at present. Definitely worth reviewing regularly though.

Hawkspear I managed to do my bit last week and out of funds now but very positive over the next 3/4 months. Agree with your sentiment. It isn't taking much volume to push the SP up just now.

Pad Thanks - good post. Given the time spent on Alpala and the profile of this area already along with BHP and Newcrest involvement I suspect a low risk. May impact other areas not yet on the radar that SOLG has concessions for? Will need to wait and see.

Strider4 I have appreciated the posts you have made on the Solgold board which can be helpful to investors such as myself. You have picked out the positives and described them well. However, on here you really seem to have an attitude problem with some other board members. A completely unjustified attitude problem. Maybe some past history I am not aware of? For you to comment on share price movements I'd advise tracking them hourly in real time as some on this board do including myself. Alfa does this with far more skill than I but it would take someone blind to the obvious not to see the market abuse that has been going on here in recent weeks. I prefer to rely on evidence and my own judgement and would suggest any other poster does their own research before accepting my views or anyone else's.

Jerryspaniel and schlemiel (2 of the most rational and helpful posters on here!) I noticed through the day that the buys from PI's exceeded sells though probably not by much so sentiment is still positive. What dragged the SP down was repeated algorithmic small sells. This pattern has been there for a few weeks now. It has pumped the SP up from 35 to 37 to 35 to 37 etc. I think they are programmed to revert to mean and try to make small profits. I don't see a conspiracy here or MM's colluding. We just don't have enough buyers to break out big-tie just now but from past experience when news hits there will be a big push upwards. To conclude the algorithmic lemmings will flip from sell to buy at some point early next week but just can't predict at what point. Not too concerned about short-term pattern though.

Alfa I think you might be onto something. I hadn't thought of WINS moving the bid around as a signal but it rings true as a possibility. I haven't seen them manouevring the SP in the way for example that Cantor Fitgerald have been recently and it doesn't cost much to up the bid by a penny or so for 5 minutes. They must know that we are watching/screenshotting/recording a few things at the moment and expect us to pick this up. It may also explain the lack of double/triple trades. It makes sense that as well as MM(S) selling a large volume of shares there are also buyers given the lack of relative shares being sold in the open market. I think I am becoming suspicious of everything! Have a good weekend all especially RK, Knuttie, pdub and families.

Why can't the egos calm down and focus on SOLG? We have a good story here and better just to agree to disagree and move on.We are all speculating to some degree on a lack of information. Worth remembering that we are here to promote and share knowledge of this share and not score points. Lots of good news to come starting with PEA or more regional news. I'm looking for an init-al capital cost to develop Alpala below $2.5bn - any thoughts?

Earthling I hope the take-out is not in 2109 - I mean we are a patient bunch and all that..... I think PEA will come when Nick decides it works tactically - maybe earlier or later but expecting good news!

Not sure if this will help Alfa later but I just happened to be monitoring buy/sell prices for the last 5 minutes of trading and observed Winterflood messing around with the bid. It moved from 39p to 40p then 39.8p ,39.5p then back to 39p. Unless is was a new start trying out the buttons on the trading desk I wonder if it could be to do with how a delayed trade may show at 5.30 or 6.30? Just my suspicious mind. All during this time the actual price to sell was c40.15p, the same as the buy price, although it did hit 40.2p to sell, exceeding the buy price at one point. Odd behaviour but no doubt for a reason.

Can someone who knows about these things enlighten me as to why BMO Capital Markets are sitting at the top of both the bid and the offer? They have been pretty active in SOLG in recent weeks as a MM but either they have shares to sell or want to buy. I'm sure there is a good reason for this - it's not the 1st time they've done this.

MM's desperate tp push the SP down into close but no-one is selling. That tells you something. There may be selling going on in the background but I wonder where our daily volume seller has gone? He/she was pretty active pre-Xmas. Maybe as Daisan said there was more than 1 and 1 has gone for now?

Lot of autotrades through in the last hour - all low value and pushing the SP down. No change in sentiment from PI's so nothing of concern here.

Similar pattern to yesterday. Lots of buys being soaked up - again by Cantor Fitzgerald - must have a deep-pocketed shareholder. SP falls on buying - won't go on forever and when it changes it will happen quickly.
