Diplomacy is much, much more likely to occur if you are not tweeting childlike insults. Whether it happens or not, there's a win for Iran here and that could be to seek mediation through Europe and others.

I don't have many nice things to say about our government, but they've done well so far in not falling for bait. The longer-term risks here are about whether the American public sours on Israel, which it likely will, in the coming years. The longer it goes on, the more likely it will be.

It's sad to see this whole thing play out the way it has. I've been a voice of defence on Israel many times as a people, not necessarily a government, and I think they've miscalculated heavily here about the backlash they're going to get. I just hope it doesn't spill out into the ugly discrimination that's already taken root.

What's with the attack on the oil field?! Israel is taking things for granted here. It needs to be careful because next time they cry wolf people will remember.

Iran were already at the table and have been trying to get back there. We all the know forces that are trying to prevent negotiations.

No reported attacks since Thursday shows that talks are working imo.

The strait requires diplomatic efforts, which some countries are pursuing. India and China are having success. It would be a big thing if Europe got ships through on that basis.

I don't think they even want to mine the strait. Right now, they probably want to stop their losses, but the president seems content to play poodle to others now sadly.

I'm not friend of Iran and a well-planned and communicated strategy might have worked, but the tactics appear to be to cause panic and chaos and drag everyone else into the fight.

The language Trump uses towards Israel has been fawning, on par with Russia. Let's hope he sobers up, and people don't start pointing fingers at general groups of people, many of whom had nothing to do with this but will likely be told they should carry some blame.

The longer this goes on, the deeper the scars will be for future US-Isreali relations imo, and that is not good for the future, plus all the lives lost ATM.
