The company is either going to scavenge the last of the cash and fold, or a massive dilution fundraise will be done at way below sp. Either way shareholders are screwed. Yunus will not authorise the mine. If new riots occur, military intervention, elections, BNP, could take years to resolve. And even then will they honour a licence signed 3 governments ago?

Nobody is asking about coal because Yunus does not want coal. He has fought vocally and passionately on the global stage against coal use for many years. His ego wants to save the planet. Yunus will be in power for 2 years until the elections. GCM has funding for 8 months. There will be no coal digging under Yunus. GCM is in serious trouble. Even the nomad knows this which is why they resigned.

Adani to cut power due to unpaid bills. Also the BPDB state existing coal plants are running out of coal. But they claim the gas is running fine and they can manage.

'Meanwhile, BPDB sources said other coal-based power plants had already reduced supply due to a lack of coal, and load-shedding would increase if Adani's supply stopped.

However, they also noted that there was a supply capacity of around 11,000MW from gas-based power plants. If the gas supply remains adequate, the issue may be mitigated, according to them.

BPDB Member Kh Mokammel Hossain told Dhaka Tribune that funds had been deposited in the bank to pay Adani’s outstanding bills, but the payment could not be made due to a shortage of dollars.'

Shafiqul Alam, the press secretary representing chief adviser Yunus’s office, said, “No timeline has yet been worked out.”

When asked about an exact timeline of the general elections, Alam said, “Six months would be very little time for making the preparations and two years would be stretching it,” adding that they will “certainly” be held in “less than two years.”

That's not stopping him though - as well as making plans to turn Hasina's palace into a museum to the revolution he's also trying to oust the current president and buy fighter jets from France! His office has issued a denial about the latter. Most likely it'll be the US who will be selling them to him! :)

Not sure what you are looking at Digit but DGi are listed on the GCM website.

As of 18thApr24 DGi owned 4.1% of GCM shares following their monthly fee share payments. After the last fundraise dilution DGi's holding remained the same share volume but the % fell to 3.7% . They are currently listed on the GCM website at 3.7%.

GCM has enough cash to last until June 2025.

Will treehugger Yunus approve the mine? Its not looking likely as he forges agead with gas and green energy projects.

Will GCM get another fundraise? A £2m fundraise for another 14 months at a discounted sp will see over 110m share dilution added.

Just some of today's energy gossip. All about renewabe energy and nuclear power coming soon. Recently new gas wells found and US companies sending more LPG. Nobody is even hinting at coal. The reality is they can probably get by without it now.

Yunus is in no rush to move on and hold elections. He is angry at the army chief even saying 18 months. YUNUS WANTS LONGER. Probably until Hasina is locked up. Revenge is a dish best served cold. GCM only has funds for 8 months. At least Tang and Dyani have Polo assets to fall back on. What about GCM after 8 months?
