We know the minimum election date is December 25 - 7 months but Yunus is saying also June 26 which is 13 months.

And even then there's no guarantee that the BNP will win and the student party is really taking Bangladesh by storm. If you suffered under Hasina would you vote the party that cowered under Hasina or the party that toppled her?

Khaleda Zia approved the mine originally but the corruption around it and the protestors' deaths was the stick Hasina used to beat the BNP with. It's not clear what their current coal policy.

Right now it's all about Yunus and the NCP leader and both are well documented as being against coal.

It's looking like solar, hydro, oil and even more LNG for Yunus. No coal is ever mentioned.

Ironic that the BNP were bullied by Hasina for years without ever putting up any serious opposition, allowing all the corruption and violence to the Bangladesh people, it's leaders hiding in comfort in London, are now questioning the student's who took on and brought down Hasina. That'll be another battle the BNP won't win.

Given that the NCP leaders are coalhating treehuggers like Yunus where does that leave GCM? It's going to be interesting to see which way this pans out.

But allowing the tribunal to ‘penalise political parties’ is a clear threat to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP.............

The BNP has not only pressed for early elections but also strongly opposed a complete ban on the Awami League...........

But detractors of the Nobel laureate say the demonstrations were part of a plan by the Yunus brigade to drastically reorder Bangladesh’s political landscape to marginalise existing political parties and bid for enough time to gain traction for the NCP, already derided by many as the ‘King’s Party.’........

NCP supremo Nahid Islam has even said the law and order condition is not satisfactory and elections cannot bd held in such a situation. So he is even prepared to accept the failure of the interim government, in which he was an adviser until recently, to delay polls..........

But Yunus seems okay with the Corridor, perhaps because this helps him stay on in power without having to face elections.........

The toothless BNP were opposed to banning the AL right up to when the students won and AL got banned. Only now they are trying to save face saying oh we wanted the ban all along!

The electoral and reform commissions will now have to sort this out and that will take an age and can guarantee this will put the elections back.

The NCP are quite possibly the most powerful political party now in Bungla no doubt aided and abetted by Yunus. Highly motivated, well organised and able to mobilise quickly. The students brought down Hasina and installed their man Yunus whilst the BNP did nothing against Hasina for years. They are a serious political outfit with momentum.

The student party are motivated, social media savvy and can mobilise massive protests in a matter of hours. They've already brought down Hasina. Now they've brought down the AL. The toothless BNP are no match for them. Khaleda is old and frail and her son Tarique Rahman won't even return to Bungla. It was no coincidence the students asked for treehugger Yunus to lead the country. The students are demanding Hasina and the AL are prosecuted before elections occur. Elections are even further away now.
