Will firmly resist those obstructing reforms, Hasnat warns Secretariat, NBR protesters

"No one will get away with holding the government hostage. Chief Adviser sticking to his timeline after meetings with political parties

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Saturday reiterated his position on the next election, stressing that the government will not go beyond June next year.

"Prof Yunus is a man of his word. He gave a cut-off time. He won't go beyond that," Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam told reporters, referring to the next national election that is likely to be held between December 2025 to June 2026.

Therein why Yunus wants out - Nahid will be telling him no elections until justice and reforms. He knows what Nahid is telling him and he knows what the army chief is telling him - and he knows there is a major chance of bloodshed and it will all be on Yunus. He let out all the terrorists from jail who will be using protests as an opportunity to create chaos. Yunus' game of prancing around on red carpets just got serious and he wants to run back to the US. But hes trapped. Over to the army chief now but there's some crazy rumours on social media that the protestors are being armed to take on the army.

So now it's clear who's really in charge, the student leader TOLD the chief adviser what to do. That's why they demanded Yunus lead the interim govt with the students as advisers, they knew they could control him to do their bidding. Looks like Yunus is trapped. He wants out but Nahid isn't going to let him. No way will Nahid let him call an election until all the reforms are in the NCP's favour.

The army chief has spoken and there's nothing Yunus or the students can do about it. With no army backing Yunus is a lame duck and he will either call the election and enjoy 6 more months of global red carpets or he will flee in the dark like a rat leaving a sinking ship. Either way it's elections December 2025 and the BNP look certain to win. As the BNP's Khaleda Zia previously approved the mine and it was since stalled by Hasina its highly likely she will approve the mine again and help Bangladesh achieve its economic dreams.

Yunus caused the chaos now trying to run away. All he had to do was organise free and fair elections and he'd have left a hero. Instead he tried to become a dictator but trying to remove the army chief was fatal for him.

The students were given a pass during the 1st uprising because they were young. Now that their sinister intentions for Bangladesh have been exposed the army chief will not allow them a 2nd chance to cause chaos. Like Yunus the students have overplayed their hand too and like Yunus are finished.

Describing Yunus’ proposed reforms agenda, which he seems to have used as an excuse to delay parliament polls, as a ‘ botched up exercise’ , General Waker declared that the national elections will have to be held by December this year.......

WOS he is not keeping all sides together - he's used divide and conquer to make a mess of Bangladesh in order for him to stay in power. The election commission is ready and the army will implement the reforms and get elections under way. An elected government with a legal mandate can then make the tough decisions for the benefit of the country not for the benefit of an unelected fool to cling on to power.

No Army backing and now hes running scared of all the students and islamists he has empowered. He'll soon be safely back in the US. Elections may be even sooner if the army chief takes control.

Yunus backtracks on corridor. The army chief ordered no corridor until sanctioned by an elected government. National Security Advisor Khalilur Rahman was appointed by Yunus and both tried to remove the army chief. Its clear that the army chief Gen Wakar is in control now. An election roadmap is now a certainty and will be held no later than December 2025.

Some don't like what I say on here but I only post facts. I've called Yunus' every move from day 1 - mainly that he didn't want elections, wanted to stay as leader and would start his own party. And then I called his fatal error trying to remove the army chief. The army chief will win that war, the NCP will be shown no mercy if they start agitating again, and elections will take place in December as the general has ordered. Far too soon for NCP to make a real impact. Tarique Rahman needs to grow a pair and return to Bangladesh, and lead his party with his mother Khaleda Zia. It really is the BNP's election to lose and they can win with a massive vote if they campaign right.

Great news for GCM and Phulbari as Khaleda Zia approved the mine in the first place all those years ago. Onwards and upwards. This news alone should see a massive rise.

It's hotting up in Bangladesh. Its a tinderbox just waiting for the spark. The irony that the Nobel Peace prizewinner Yunus is nothing about peace.

Wise owl Yunus is trying to cling to power - leaders at the NCP have already stated they want a statesman like Yunus to lead the govt if they win elections. It is generally accepted Yunus and the NCP are working together. Yunus is stalling to let the NCP grow stronger. The army chief will clamp down on both Yunus and the students. The party is over for them. The adults are taking over.
