As Evanescent has pointed out a number of times Petrofac requires 75% of its noteholders to agree to a dilution. That number is currently at 47% and hasn't changed much in the previous few months. Additionally, even if that figure reaches 75% it will take another few months at least for the courts to approve the dilution. A lot can happen in that time especially with a non core asset sale around the corner and perhaps a few more clients agreeing to forego performance guarantees as one 'key' client has already agreed to. Finally, as Amers pointed out the key is survival. If Petrofac shares are diluted and the company survives then we should see the share price climb with the $8bn backlog in contracts.
