Take a look at Arctic Star Exploration and the complete radio silence around them since December 2022. They are also sat on a discovery in Finland. Are they being lined up by Rio Tinto too, that wouldn’t surprise me.
The company could do with updating shareholders on progress at Kuhmo in Finland. They must have initial results by now. If Kuhmo is the major discovery we think it is, then tell the market and get this show on the road. Will we ever get the results or will we get taken over by Rio before hand. I imagine Rio will be fully aware of progress and if this is as big as Lomonosov they will want to be first mover for the asset.
There are a number of linked companies that have used Radaii Oy for drone works with some common people accross them:
Magnus Minerals Ltd - Juho Haverinen
Kuhmo Minerals - Juho Haverinen
Nordic Nickel - Juho Haverinen
First Quantum
KDR
I am not ruling out some Finnish involvement in Kuhmo, along with Rio. We shall see what emerges in the coming weeks I expect.
I notice VA2023:0073 Kuhmo 2 with Tukes to lock down an increased area, enlarging the green diamond area, including a large area the other side of the road. This must be on the back of the extra 38 kimberlite targets. I also notice Tukes not naming the applicant or providing any information about it on their website, other than showing the enlarged mare on their map.
I’m also finding possible links with Magnus Minerals interesting
This was all 15 years ago. Things have moved on. For the scale of future diamond mining in Finland there has been new facilities constructed. GTK Mintec Facility.
“No other service provider in Finland, nor Europe, has similar extensive testing and research services for the beneficiation process such as GTK Mintec. GTK’s operations are trusted to such an extent that having GTK as a partner is also a strong signal for investors and gives credibility to the project”, Jylänki notes.
Geological Survey of Finland’s (GTK) pilot plant and laboratory, GTK Mintec, in Outokumpu will receive new office and laboratory facilities. The construction work began in autumn 2022, and the foundation stone of the building was laid at the construction site today, Friday, 14 October 2022, in a solemn ceremony. The new facilities will be completed in early 2024.
I wonder will this be just in time for a new diamond exploration rush in Finland.
The sample turn-around-time for the processing
described above is 14 days for each delivery of 30 till
samples. Or if no preconcentration is needed, we can also
start directly from preconcentrates provided by the client.
The heavy medium separations and mineral analyses
(microprobe and SEM) are done at the GTK laboratories
in Espoo, near the city of Helsinki.

Diamond Exploration Research
The Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) has been
conducting R&D work in the field of diamond exploration
for well over a decade. The research has focused both on
mantle research and regional to local scale heavy mineral
surveys. Based on GTK samples and samples provided
through collaboration with the diamond exploration
companies presently working in Finland, a cross-section ofthe mantle from Kaavi-Kuopio in the SW to Kuhmo to
Kuusamo in the NE has been constructed based on the
mantle xenocryst record. This cross section shows the
thickness of the diamond window over a distance of 600
km across the Karelian Craton. It also shows that the
craton edge below Kaavi-Kuopio is structurally different
than farther into the craton, with a distinct layered nature
to the peridotites as well as a significant component of
eclogite. This mantle mapping type of research is essential
for diamond explorers working in the area, and the
intention is to continue this mapping to the north and east
across onto the Russian side of the border
Sorry, if the link doesn't work, the following is the sort of stuff:
Diamond Exploration Services
Currently, publicly listed junior companies are the
driving force in grass roots diamond exploration
worldwide. To implement their working plans, these
companies must have promising targets, innovative and
skilful management, good funding, and last but not least,
access to a competent research facility, preferably located
in the same part of the world as their prospect. To
facilitate diamond exploration in N. Europe, GTK has
built a cutting edge diamond exploration facility, unique
inside the E.U.
Since 1994, the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK)
has been providing customized, high quality diamond
exploration services with complete confidentiality to
companies both within Finland and abroad. We specialize
in laboratory services and exploration techniques from
regional through to prospect scales. To date we have
taken and processed over 20,000 quaternary samples for
diamond exploration companies including European
Diamonds PLC, Karelian Diamond Resources plc.,
Mantle Diamonds Ltd. and Poplar Resources Ltd.
The GTK Research Laboratory has developed high
recovery separation techniques for kimberlite and
diamond indicator minerals,
Since around 2015 the GTK (Geological Survey of Finland) have removed almost all links to diamond exploration from their website. 2014/15 was a very significant period for KDR with Rio Tinto. I suspect GTK, Rio Tinto and KDR have a stronger link than people realise. When you read pages 8 to 11 in the following document from 2008 you will realise the importance of diamond exploration is to the GTK, though you wouldn't know it, looking at their website now. Remember GTK do KDRs work on the ground and have done from day 1. You wouldn't know it looking at GTKs website.

The market has no idea what KDR have.
Kuhmo - 38 Kimberlite anomalies (hinted to be the jackpot)
Riihivaara - Rio took the samples to their own labs in Australia and catagorised Riihivaara as high priority rating...said likely diamondiferous. Stopped just short of confirming diamondiferous...."nothing to see here"!!!! yeh right!
Seitapera - Diamondiferous, KDRs delineation of Seitapera is what attracted Rio Tinto to KDR. Rio Tinto said they liked what KDR did.
Lahtojoki- formal registration of mining permit pending and a formality (though slow)- Will be a Mine
Havukassuo - Amazing indicators came from this, then a blow was discovered and nothing more has been said. Could be something there
Salla - Diamonds + REE. Looks like this is for Rio Tinto
Liperi - Yellow Diamonds. Looks like this is for Rio Tinto
Northern Ireland - Fermanagh/Tyrone - Awaiting results from Canada. Company appear excited. However I have no idea. Keeping an open mind here as could be something in it.
And KDR are still a tiny company, with tiny market capital. If there is any other junior company on AIM with this type of near term potential, please let me know. I certainly haven't found one. Insane upside here and I am astounded that the market still hasn't realised. It will soon. Then try buying this stock. GLA, All IMO and DYOR
Why do you think we are maintaining the Salla and Liperi Licenses? The previous exploration there was done by Ashton (which Rio Tinto acquired) when coloured diamonds and REE was found but didnt have to be disclosed. Rio enter into a confidentiality agreement with KDR. KDR immediately grab Salla and Liperi, mainhtain then renew the licences, narrow down the targets, never report on them. KDR still have them. Whilst the confidentiality agreement has since lapsed, there must be something that allows KDR to not have to report on Salla and Liperi. Joining the dots here points to Salla and Liperi being of significance to Rio Tinto. They likely want to conceal their indirect interest at Salla and Liperi. Watch this space I say.
Geologist Marja Lehtonen has studied the diamond deposits in Kaavi and Kuopio . He found a 40 km thick diamond deposit in the area at a depth of 140–180 km. The rock at such a depth cannot be exploited economically.
The prof has found something very big "at surface" at Kuhmo. Actually, it sounds like he has found multiple somethings very big! Incredible when you realise that KDR is only a tiny junior.
From Wikipedia:
The world's most diamond-rich stones
Perhaps one of the most diamond-rich stones in the world has been found in the Lahtojoki kimberlite deposit in Kaavi. The stone contains 90,000 carats of diamonds per ton. A diamond deposit is considered interesting if it contains diamonds of 0.1 carats per ton. One carat is 0.2 grams.
KDR applied for mining district of Lahtojoki over 6 years ago now. It has been 9 months since the final public meeting and decision. Why is this appeal taking so long, it’s just a variation appeal. Finland needs to get its house in order, that’s crazy red tape.
Forgot link, sorry

This is more than 11 yrs old. Read it then think of the current situation KDR are in. The prof himself said "inevitably, there will be a rush". We just need the permit to issue and land survey after Land Survey grant legal force. Tick tock.
