Newmont! very sorry
I would like a crack at answering the wrong question!
IF there is already discussion about Newcrest buying our 30% I would be very happy as I am sure Sean would get an excellent deal.
Personally I would like to have loads of money in the bank soon. (Age!)
.... and all this talk of copper - don't forget the gold!
I think we will all end up very happy.
Thank you very much Bamps,
Looks like three scenarios -
1 = WIN
2 = WIN
3 = WIN
My eyes are starting to water
All the best
Hello Bamps,
Assuming Newmont become the new owners of Havieron quite soon we can work on the basis that they must continue the mining operation using the same plans and contracts.
This is an expensive business so, does it mean that they will be mining themselves?
Or has some arrangement already been made for Greatland to step in?
Of course none of us know what is being discussed but thought I would pop the question.
Have a good weekend, the next few weeks will be very exciting.
Yes, The fat lady is singing and someone will be paying to continue with the Havieron project for quite a while.
All the best
Gold mining/exploration shares are a National sport in Australia and depending how things pan out people may be using their cash profits from Newcrest to invest elsewhere.
Greatland will be one alternative and a very good way have a well leveraged share in Havieron -plus they will be easily available in OZ.
Time will soon tell!
Whoever put the AU in AUstralia also put some copper there!!
All the best.
Bertieboy,
'Our chairman is in line for £76 mill!'
Great.
As and when 88p no longer 'mythical' we share holders will have done very well too and will be writing with gold pens to thank the Chairman for all his work.
Nothing quite like gold mining - fortunes are made and lost.
That's the fun of it!
Yellowstuff
Over the last few months we have all been given excellent opportunities to buy GGP shares below 8p.
Things have never looked better in terms of the decline and gold/copper discoveries.
Big news coming on, or before, May 11th.
Whoever mines at Havieron in a few months time it is Win, Win, Win for Greatland.
All the best.
How nice it is to see people having a pleasant and good-natured discussion here.
Just like it used to be and just like it should be.
Thanks Paddy,
'Who will be mining Havieron and who will be processing at Telfer is still very much in the balance.'
I do think that whoever goes ahead with this project will be wanting to own 100%. (Happy to be wrong).
As you said recently Greatland is in very good hands.
Timber Trader,
I am guessing the same, hoping for loads of information.
There is also the possibility of the Newcrest/Newmont deal having a result out before the deadline date.
I have no idea just how many accountants etc. are trying to work figures out for such an enormous takeover.
All very exciting.
And what if Newcrest take over Newmont in the next few days?
We are in an even stronger position now.
All the best,
Ben,
We pawns need feeding - with LOTS and LOTS more information!
All the very best
I am trying to work out who will own the trucks and the gold.
Lots can happen in the next few weeks and months.
All the best
Thanks Redcar - that is a help
Given Newcrest buy Newmont would they -
Want to buy all of Greatland?
Some of Greatland (Havieron) ?
None of Greatland?
Other?
All good for GGP and we could know quite soon.
Exciting times,
All the best
'Newmont Corp laid down a best and final offer for Australia’s Newcrest Mining Ltd on Tuesday at A$29.4 billion ($19.5 billion) to close a deal that would extend Newmont’s lead as the world’s biggest gold producer.'
We can at least keep an eye on this offer though we have little knowledge of what is being planned or of any talks between Newcrest/Newmont and GGP.
On Saturday Hufc1908 kindly posted this important 'Share-Talk' link. put here again as many may have missed it over the weekend. Well worth a read.

The exclusivity deed grants Newmont exclusivity until 11:59 pm on 11 May 2023, allowing them to conduct confirmatory due diligence on an exclusive basis. During this time, Newcrest must adhere to certain obligations as outlined in the deed.
There is a lot happening and big news that concerns GGP share holders could be just three weeks away.
The Share Talk article ends with some IF's -
IF Newmont increases its bid and Newcrest accepts, then Greatland will suddenly be in partnership with the largest gold producer in the world. There’s a reason why several very senior people are joining now — consider the pedigree of Barnaba, Gaines, Wilson, Meynert, and Tyrrell.
IF this new Goliath then wants 100% of Haverion, then we’re off to the races.
And of course, IF Newmont chooses to drop its bid, then it’s as we were.
*
We all have our hopes and wishes for what will happen next.
Surely whatever happens the Havieron mine progress will continue rapidly and the Telfer wheels will keep turning for decades.
Looks good.
Thanks for the Share Talk link it is very helpful and well worth reading.
We must wait for a few more week and there are still lots of possibilities, the link ends it ends with these IF's,

There are still so many possibilities here but I fancy that whoever gets to mine Havieron will want to own it lock stock and barrel.
If so I still have to guess who that will be!
Tiggerman
Copper - not silver! sorry
Tiggerman,
Lots of speculation - 'but all probable outcomes should be favourable for us .' = Win, Win, Win.
How about the Newcrest share holders swapping some of their newly acquired shares for GGP shares to keep an interest in the Havieron. gold and silver.
Newcrest buy our 30% at an eye watering price (not from tears!)
We continue exploring and it all ends very happily ever after.
Time will tell and whatever happens may happen quickly.
All the best.
