I do of course agree that gold is money and not vice versa.

But what happens when you sell your gold mining shares?

In the good old days miners and share holders were paid in gold.

(Things would have t be really bad before this was a problem.)

I forgot to mention Magic and the interviews he gave here when he was a student.

I hope he is doing well now as that he is fully qualified and will pop in from time to time.

Also the Stroud meetings were a big help and gave a chance to meet Bamps and others in the early days.

I was lucky and bought my shares for 1p after hearing a loud whisper.

Bamps, Paddy and many others have taken the trouble to do much more research than I could ever manage.

I am truly grateful for the hours of research thy have generously shared . It kept me going during good times and bad.

I will not forget.

Yes, it will be interesting to see what happens in Italy and the Euro.

When the Euro was formed countries did not share their gold reserves.

Germany became reunited (a very big gold holder) - maybe on condition that they also joined the Euro currency - who knows?

Some talk of bank bail outs in USA and 10% premium on gold sales in Washington this morning - but be prepared for loads and loads of false news.

Eventually the gold dust will settle!

I fancy that this rapid 9% rise in silver price will shake the markets world wide, fortunes have already been made and lost.

Traders are on vacation at the moment but they will return with instructions - some to buy and some to sell!

All world markets and currencies could be topsy-turvy for a goodly while.

The silver price in China has shot up to $75 an ounce

It was $25 in April!

Greatland have been my best investment for the last few year and I thank all who have given positive posts and help here.

I hope that the excellent safety record will continue.

A bumpy ride, as with all gold mines, but I will be happy with just a 10% increase next year before production really takes off.

I do wish that I could recommend this site - but I dread to think what is going on behind so many green box doors.

Silver just went to $70 per ounce in the USA - a very rapid rise!

Some say that it will mow explode - maybe gold too.

If I sell some shares now I will have capital gains tax to pay.

So, think I will review in the new tax year and hopefully the unpaid tax money will be nicely invested for a while longer.

We all have different plans!
