So listening to the podcast
- meeting hasn't happened yet and sounds like no date firmed yet. But all papers for the meeting ready
- will start talking to AFC after today on loan restructing
-newsflow in the coming months
Interesting week(s) ahead.
The Minister of Energy said new power gen projects will be announced by end of the month, at the start of the week
Then the Chinese Ambassador visits the President and Magufuli encourages her to invest in Tanz
After that, UK's Secretary of State in Charge of Overseas Aid (and its mighty commercial arm - CDC) was to meet Magufuli today, with 200mln aid package
What next?!?
First visited by the Chinese Ambassador
Now by UK Secretary of State (+ I can see the UK Ambassador there too)
How likely is that they could have discussed a small power project that a UK listed company is pushing really hard. It also just built a few classrooms too

Can you post a link, please.
Mining Comm had a training this week in Morogoro. Also there was some noise around some officials at the Ministry and Mining Comm registering licence applications to their family members and other figureheads while they are the real beneficiaries.
The Minister wasn't too happy with that. So maybe a nit further checking required.
But I expect the SMLs to be presented to Cabinet next week onwards
This was from 18th June and the Minister committed to weeks rather than months, very clearly. It is nearly 2 months now. So if we take her word, the SMLs should land next week?!?
"...While the Minister did not confirm an exact date, she did state that the Commission is
under her instruction to fast track all SML’s and that it would be weeks and not months before
licences are granted"
The full section:
"...Peak’s General Manager of Development Lucas Stanfield met with the Honorable Minister for
Minerals Angellah Kairuki in Dar Es Salaam last week to discuss the progress of the Company’s
SML application. The Minister confirmed that following the official inauguration of the Mining
Commission on the 30 May 2018 she has instructed the Commission to commence processing the
pending SML application as quickly as possible. Minister Kairuki informed Mr. Stanfield that she is
expecting to be able to present the applications to the cabinet for final approval in a matter of
weeks. While the Minister did not confirm an exact date, she did state that the Commission is
under her instruction to fast track all SML’s and that it would be weeks and not months before
licences are granted. She noted the ability of the Mining Commission to act quickly has been
proven with some 7,000 mineral licences having been approved since the Commission started
operating at the beginning of May as evidence of this.
I would expect him to get the Bots ML in next. And once is done, it should take c 1month to get the ML issued, according to Bots govt site
I expect ML submission very very soon. He said in Q3 and we are halfway Q3. Would be nice if LC can deliver smh ahead of schedule, for a change!
for electricity - another few industries and villages added soon

Let's not forget the 22 MW supply to a Tanga business I pointed to a few days ago. Only that single business will gobble up 8% of MCPP supply!

Morningstar is a funds research business, they look at different funds and assign ratings on them based on managers, performance etc.
Don't think they run any funds themselves, unless it is some sort of fund of funds business
aerial,
i come across it when was aired. Not sure if it will happen soon, given that they have been trying to put together similar xchanges for other comm
Anyway, quiet day today, it is Nane nane over in Tanz, so everyone gets a day off
