"...you can criticise and still hold. "
If you don't believe in strategy or management, I can't see why one would hold here?
Obviously posting factual information is all fine, but just moaning for the sake of it. We are where we are, maybe unlucky, maybe LC been too optimistic/reckless with his timelines, maybe that part of the world is the wrong place to invest.
I think about it at all, and if and when I change my views, I will adjust my holding.
For now, let's stick to the facts
- IPP support by the GoT,
-TANESCO dragging its feet,
-the Minister saying new power gen projects will be announced by the end of the month
I was told a few weeks ago by one of the Tanz contacts that a Minister asked the President to sanction/sack (can't quite remember) a single official, as he was being so obstructive that Tanz was going to lose out a big aid grant because of the official.
This is TZ and this is why things can take some time.
By the way, the Mining Commission officials had a 6 day training last week - from Monday to Saturday.
So they should be back to their desks this week, equipped with the newly acquired knowledge and confidence and start issuing the licences!!
[Before I get banned by LSE, it is all on the Minerals Ministry's websire, ie public knowledge]

Low Irrs. I presume you are invested in gilts at 1%. Very sound investment
"...For emergency generation it won't get loans" - REALLY? Ha ha
"...will benefit him. But not his long-suffering shareholders." - will sell now then! Thanks for opening my eyes

WRONG
The GoT is getting slowly in line and is becoming business friendly again. But for the right businesses - honest and transparent.
Perfect for KIBO
All my contacts on the ground are confirming that. Things will happen, albeit slowish.
But you never know. Once/if Magufuli gets involved, things can move much much quicker
This is great news
Near term cashflow,
leverage relationship with GE and Sepco in UK (I am sure both partners are really keen)
add more to what KIBO can do in Africa and generally - small scale
And CASH is KING
This is such a great news
Now, this is interesting
Tanzania has tabled a bill to amend its public private partnership law with the aim of reducing bureaucracy and fast tracking approvals for new PPP projects.

I saw the tweet by the Minerals Minister, on Aug 1 but ML/SMLs being issued within 2 weeks
She also said in mid June that the SMLs will be fastracked and issued withing weeks rather than months.
So hopefully in the coming days
LC is fully aware of Lamu/Amu and lots more, is my understanding!
We just need the PPA signed and judging by today's news - it is getting closer
Let's not forget that the Minister announced new power gen projects will be announced by the end of the month!
