Interesting valuation - paying 60 mln for very old (20+ yrs) and very expensive HFO IPP!!! 0.6 mln per MWh valuation.
Much cheaper (diesel PP can cost 20c+ vs 5-6c for coal), cleaner and brand new station. So what GE paid for LAMY
in Kenya - 2mln per MWh, is not that outrageous!
That would mean valuation for MCPP (at 300MWh) of 600mln USD!!!!
Even if KIBO retains 20%, that's close to 100 mln for its stake - 15p+.
And then we have the other phases + Bots + Moz!
"...Minister that the SML’s are expected to be issued soon."
and this was 2 weeks ago.
https://www.miningreview.com/ngualla-sml-being-considered-by-tanzanian-mining-commission/
It must really really imminent now! Watching like a hawk! I could feel the SMLs on the way to the Cabinet for approval
o&w and rest
I agree on the market sentiment which is reflected in the very poor sp.
Today's article in the main business paper, is not a random thing. Especially the point about Tanesco etc. If it were not true, it wouldn't have been published!
On whether investors have been mislead. With content unchanged and just formatting the PPA - this is not material in my books. Just my view.
I always expected delays here, just wish I left a bit more dry powder.
Let's not forget that the company has more than 2mln in the bank, THREE projects on the go, plus a stake in a mining company!
And I met and talked to LC many times. I can blame him for lots of things (like havnig crappy advisors, very expensive financing etc etc) but one thing I am certain - is in his INTEGRITY and HONESTY.
And hence I am fully invested here and I am quite positive that the payday is on its way!
and doesn't look good

All negotiations suspended!!!! So were we mislead by the company? I was only told 2 weeks ago that it is all happening?
"..lays your ignorance how these schemes work. You should go back to investing your pennies in your toy-town post-office set."
Lurker, for a 3rd rate retired analyst and ex project manager (BAE Systems!) - very strong views. Not nice, not at all!
I had the pain of listing all your wrong assumptions, comments and calculations in the past. Not going to go into it again!
The key is whether LC manages to sign the PPA as he and GoT said would. And once done, the terms of the FC! I personally believe it will happen and hence stay invested and even added a few more in the last few days
JD Also it could be much cheaper as when I spoke to LC he mentioned a few times that any new projects will benefit from the internal expertise Kibo built and also won't need to use expensive external consultants. He was planning to lean on the SEPCO and GE and tap into their knowledge in the space, for free
Tanesco are so overwhelmed with legal contracting work that they advertising for 3 more legal officers http://www.tanesco.co.tz/index.php/careers/245-job-advert-legal-and-ict-officers
Another EPC keen on investing in CtP project https://www.nishati.go.tz/wamisri-waomba-kuwekeza-katika-miradi-ya-umeme-nchini/ They are eyeing the Kiwira coal mine. Not far from us Others are wakening up for what LC has been saying for the last few years
Agree Deecay It could be an estate or trust smrh where the trustees need to liquidate. And they instructed the broker to sell off in chunks. Reading the TZ press, I can not see MCPP not going ahead. Just wonder why the +12 quid investor hasn't approached house brokers and asked them quietly to place the shares off market. Usually you get much higher price.
Patch Companies can't manipulate their sp but can -directors can buy shares and send strong signal -if there's a big block of shares for sell, job of broker is to place shares. I once got shares yhat way. Rather than trade in the market.
I am not sure I agree. Main reason for the big fall today were the 5012 and 10012 quid sells. With no corresponding buys. My question is whoever is behind those sells, why werent they picked by our two highly paid brokers and shares quitely placed. Instead of destroying the sp? Where is the company to nudge them. With heavy heart, i am sorry to say that I am really disappointed by the whole situation. And the buck stops with the Board of Directors.
