“Africa must develop its energy sector with what it has.”
"...To fast track universal access to electricity, the Bank is investing US$12 billion in the power sector and seeks to mobilize $45-$50 billion from other partners.”"
"...USAID says Power Africa 2.0 is “one of the largest public-private partnerships in development history, with more than $54 billion of commitments from its more than 150 public- and private-sector partners.”
".. It’s no wonder Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania and other countries are taking charge of their own destinies and building dozens of coal-fired power plants."

I can see the SML dropping in very soon. Won't be surprised if is this or next week
But just shows how long simple things take in Tanz. Mining regs were put together in Jan, Mining Comm set up in April and the last 2 docs approved in mid July
Imagine how long it takes to go through a 25 year term PPA which involves spending more than 1/2 bln in capex and blns of revenues over the period
And here is the invite from the Mining comm for all licence applicants to submit the required forms

Walkabout's application is for ML and not SML, so likely to be lower in priority than the 3 SMLs.
Not sure why WKT folks are annoyed, given that it usually takes a year for a ML to be processed anyway
Also submitted in Sept 2017 vs Kibo's which was lodged in Nov 2016!
I understand that the hold up with ALL MINING LICENCES is due to approving of the last two pieces of docs required by mining laws - Integrity pledge and Local content.
These have been now standartised and approved by the Minister and have been sent to be Gazette'd. Once published all mining licence applicants and holders will need to submit them to the Mining Comm.
Once these received, the Mining Comm can start dishing out the licences!
O&w My read is that all is in the system, project makes sense; pricing is ok etc etc. Theissue is decisive and prompt decision making as everyone is wary of the guy in the Ikulu. My feel is that is all ready and waiting for the node from jpm. Look how long has been taking to issue straightforward ml and smls where the GoT WILL BE MAKING MONEY through licence fees, royalties etc. At least we have 2 other projects which aren't far behind mcpp.
