Surely even the US will run out of people willing to sell losses eventually. Why sell the bottom?

It's crazy. This is already my biggest holding by a fair amount yet here I am feeling FOMO that I can't top up. I'm enjoying the rises as well though. :)

I was planning to do a decent size top up tomorrow, now wishing I had sold other shares instead to buy before today. Tempted to do the same now but hard to tell if this price is an intraday spike and will fall back to 0.55 or whether it will keep going.

I think ARB, RIOT and MARA falling as they have done is spooking investors in all mining companies. The dip in bitcoin over the past few days hasn't helped either.

I've not bought any dips as I can't justify adding more money into this just in case it doesn't recover. I think bitcoin wobbling isn't helping with all this to be honest. If bitcoin was still above 60k I'd have a lot more confidence than I do. I suspect if/when bitcoin goes on another run then people will be rushing to buy this and other miner shares.

I'm going to continue holding as I agree it can swing upwards just as quick. We saw this morning how quickly it can go from 130s to 180s even though it didn't stick. Problem is half the people who bought the dip were probably the ones selling off this afternoon.

I think if bitcoin goes on a run again to the 64k+ level and new all time high then we may see some strong buying but I'm not sure that will take us back to where we were.

My plan is to derisk somewhat once I'm back at break even and sell half my shares. I'm not confident enough any more with my current level of investment. The rest I can let run without caring about the daily ups and downs.

Yeah I bought into the "bitcoin to 400k" narrative too, although I was thinking it wouldn't get anywhere near that but somewhere over 100k was quite likely. I've totally messed up here by over-investing in a volatile stock. I've just calculated that I'm on a 36% loss based on price of 142p and I can't justify crystalising that.

Where are all the people who were spamming this board with "hodl 4 godl" for months? They seem to have vanished. Now it's more "sodl 4 peanust".

This is what is concerning me @HarChris. Has the crypto bear cycle come quicker than people predicted?

I'm in deep red now and I don't want to get out with a loss, but it worries me that we may go down further.

Hoping it stays flat as it's pay day for me on Friday and I'm trying to move money from elsewhere into an ISA which will take a couple of days. Want to add more shares. Probably still add at 0.60 if I have to though.

I keep hearing "gap closed" on here but can anyone explain WHY that gap needed to be filled? Surely it doesn't matter.

Selling on the bell is almost never a good time to sell. I bet a lot of people had stop losses at 140 and were hit.

I think there will be more than a few people who researched this share over the weekend after hearing about the sharp drop and see an opportunity.

My boyfriend barely knows what a bitcoin is. I don't fancy having to explain bitcoin mining, nevermind ARB and what's happening. Luckily he doesn't know how much money I have in the stock market, nor cares.

Luckily I didn't have much money in my account back then so only lost about £40 but that was my biggest loss at the time and it wasn't great. Then I went and poured money into another share - one that was being ramped like crazy and dumped literally after I bought the peak. Lost about £130 on that one. That taught me what a pump and dump is.

These boards are dangerous for new investors and I wouldn't advise anyone I know to browse them. I don't know how people can get away with the stuff I see daily on this website.

ARB is currently by far my biggest loss making stock, but these idiots aren't getting my shares. The stock has to rise again at some point if the company keeps making big profits and expanding surely? Even if it is in 3 months time that I am finally back out of the red, that has to be better than selling a loss.

I can't think of anything worse than panic selling for a loss and then watching it bounce higher.

When I was new to investing and first came to these boards I sold a share for a 30% loss because of what derampers were posting on its board. The share bounced back the next day and continued doing so until it would have put me in profit. It fell back again after that but that's irrelevant. Back then I didn't realise people target boards with negativity so people sell their shares so that they can buy in lower. Unfortunately, these idiots prey on people who don't know better.

Sometimes selling shares for a loss is justified - when fundamental things change about a company. But this isn't the case here.

Too early to make predictions. Bitcoin could be over 60k by 8am or under 50k. But I do agree if bitcoin is around 56k then opening will be the bottom price.

No one cares what you sold at.

Why do trolls think it's a good idea to brag about how they got out before the crash in share price? Some people here are sitting on heavy losses.

The big unknown variable for valuing all the miners is the P/E ratio. Different people will have different views on what that is as the industry is quite new.

While I don't disagree that Argo is under valued, you can't just compare the share prices of ARB and RIOT directly. You have to consider the number of shares in issue. ARB has 382m vs RIOT 84m. So ARB has around 4.5 times as many shares. You would need to divide the RIOT share price by 4.5 for a better comparison - about $10. That's what RIOT share price would be if they had roughly the same number of shares in issue as ARB.

$10 vs $2.19. Are RIOT worth 4.5 times what ARB is worth? I doubt it. They hold more bitcoin and have some attractive expansion plans but I don't think that equates to 4.5 times as much.
