I think you missunderstand , not in farming , i do have acerage with my personel residence ,----- also hold covenantes on land (land with potential building posibility on it , light industry or residential) , this means i have no maintenance costs . Not doing much in the stockmarket myself at present , normaly run core positions with float position , sitting on hands at present only buying T2 & T3 for long term core positions , for the float positions normaly trade T20s. ------ been investing since 18 Years of age, so went through the 1970s crash , what got me into investing instead of farming was one of the big banks ,------ i was 13Years approx when my granfather died (early 1960s) , the estate was left in trust with one of the large banks in control , in thier great wisdom , they disposed of his farming interests on low valuations (not sold on open market) to my grandfathers business partners , they put the bulk of proceeds into Guilts & left it there untill the early 1980s , when eventualy they lost control of the trust , by which time they had reduced the purchasing power of the fund to a very low level (inflationary 1970s), but then we know all about the banks now dont we !?, unfortunately my grandfather trusted them !? ---- my gran instaled this fraze in my memory , from his will "i empower my trustees to retain my investments , in the form that they are at , at the time of my death" , saying he specificaly put that in , so his farming interests could be retained. ----- so my Destiny was not to be farming, even though my grandfather had tried to safegaurd his farming interests after his death !! ------ Destiny's Child-Survivor : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OhJgJVfZ5g --- BW Wraith
