It was going on last week too so doesn't really explain today's sudden drop does it? Anyway, time will tell as this week goes on whether it's anews leak or not I guess, or just the Portuguese taking their usual time to realise there's a war happening.

Does anyone here have reliable trading info to know if the chunky trades end of last week were buys or sells, as given this morning if seems likely now that they were sells doesn't it?

Not looking good on sp drop this morning....very concerning as usually means leaking negative news with SAV.

IB - that is my understanding too, that easements just permit temporary access to land to carry out required work. Thus is separate and additional to the land SAV are acquiring by offer or compulsory purchase. The puzzle is why 1st easements clearly posed no great obstacle but these 2nd easements seem to be a major hurdle, but if not then SAV should issue an update to settle investors concerns.

IB - yes I was referring to the routing of the power line but surely that forms part of the overall easements they are trying to obtain? If not, then they have not given any figure regarding easements update have they ? Or did I miss it ?

Some positives but on the whole a quite underwhelming and concerning announcement. Alarmed that at this stage only 20% or so of land permissions granted are mentioned after so many months of discussions. Plus the timeline of 150 days for APA, then a 30 day consultation before anything can happen brings us to year end pretty much, so no way is the timeline to construction and production not facing further delay. Assay results good bt at this rate it'll be staying underground. Really don't like the way they felt compelled to mention they are still committed.....I took that as a gimme so to mention it concerns me that they are feeling the strain of the long struggle.

Just reviewing the grant RNS and reminded myself that this part of the statement is concerning to a significant degree as SAV are not in sole control of satisfying the conditions to get the Grant funding......and so far the state are not inspiring confidence :

" Shareholders should note that the timing and quantum of Grant receipts are contingent on meeting all contractual conditions. Should Savannah or the Portuguese State not comply with the conditions precedent before the end of the year, the contract would be void."

Several heading for the exit it seems....need an update SAV please as the promised regular newsflow is severely lacking and clearly causing investor unrest.

Maybe SAV will announce next week to steal a march on the Chinese whilst they're otherwuse engaged off celebrating new year !!? 🤪

IB, as I said it is a "wish" as opposed to any realistic expectation !

I do sympathise to a degree with their frustration but if SAV are to be believed then they are taking all reasonable steps to protect and restore the environment and should be applauded for doing so rather than constantly face these repeated legal challenges. I realise that their hope is that constant obstruction will result in ultimate collapse of SAV but they need to be careful as if that happens then their landscape may well be left in a permanent state of disrepair with no party willing or capable of funding it's restoration like SAV intend to.

This isn't a new discovery and is Neptune Energy in Germany. Similar potential as SAV to provide enough per year for 500k electric vehicle batteries, but further behind on timeline as still at pilot stage so lots of work needed before commercial production. SAV do need to get a move on though undoubtedly and stick to latest schedule plan, so do all they possibly can to get these legal challenges dismissed and the 2nd easements granted so no further delays occur.

I just wish there was another local action group in favour of SAV that would challenge all of these opposition groups by visiting them to seize every item that they use that uses any "environmentally damaging" materials and publicising just how hypocritical they are. SAV have been as pro-environment as possible for a lithium mine but still these NIMBYs object. Do they really think that their traditional life can just continue indefinitely? The world is ever-changing and to fight progress of the whole EU for the sake of this tiny community can not possibly succeed surely or the EU deserves to collapse. These challenges need to be powerfully dismissed urgently and not allowed to constantly cause delays to progress of SAV and MdB.

IB, not directly maybe, but surely they need to work with all parties urgently or else the project will fall behind yet again and be at risk due to missed deadlines....a mañana mañana approach would not be helpful.

Disappointing not to see an RNS to discredit thus latest legal challenge and declare SAV will seek to fight it and have it thrown out without delay. It looks weak and risks creating doubt by not announcing anything regarding it IMHO. In the past SAV have usually made such announcements.

So the usual lack of momentum with the sp following the recent good news of the funding and usual frustration we've seen over the years as the sp slides away again, dropping through the 5p level this morning which may trigger further sales, we'll see. Come on SAV, get those easements sorted by applying pressure to govt to pull their bloody fingers out for once to benefit the country in their plan to be a lithium battery power force for the EU.

My opinion is that SAV would be very foolish to think they can take EU funding and not be expected in turn to supply only EU based entities with the product. If there's a sniff of anything other than that in the pipeline then they can rightfully expect to see all their EU funding cancelled and any outstanding approvals blocked/rejected. So it would be helpful for SAV to state the purpose of the Africa visit to avoid any govt concerns impacting the easements and subsequent steps.

What seems weird to me is that SAV have the power of compulsory purchase over areas if owners won't agree at fair price, but no such powers regarding easements and needing to tiptoe around for these it seems....quite illogical
