Aligator- no need for apologies as I am a suffering LTH myself with IOG and more than accustomed to their disappointing newsflow. Obvious nervousness abounds at the lack of first gas news so far and consequent feelings of deja vu. I'm hoping that RN is very aware of this and would have ensured any bad news was issued immediately in order to distance himself from the previous management team, but I guess he was present before too so he may be cut from the same cloth and Fiona is still around too so might be a case of the same old comms nightmare...only time will tell I guess, but they need to be wary that the backlash will likely be severe if they fall at their first hurdle with this "new" team. The gas price is diminishing daily too so further delays would prove extremely damaging for potential profits.

Having now had a chance to briefly look at the IWL info in the EIA section of SAV website, it does appear that this Emerman fella was indeed scare-mongering as he seems to be contradicting what is in the SAV info and claiming they are planning a tailings dam despite the EIA clearly stating they are not ! Amazed that such a presentation was able to be given to the EU without being fact checked first !

Once a flow rate is established it would be a material change I would say. My hope is that they're trying to get some improved news on Blythe and/or Elgood finalised too in order to announce that too as part of an all round ops update with A2 first gas.

CVN65 - thanks for that info but if that's true then why would this presentation have told a blatant lie that it had an upstream tailings dam ? Is he just a tree hugger trying to cause problems?

Dunderhead - as an ex professional, would you helpfully detail all of the steps and time required for each to move from clean up stage to first gas so we can all understand exactly how IOG haven't managed to announce yet and how far behind they are where they should have been by now?

Kn0wles - maybe Warren Buffet needs a copy of DH's 12.26pm expert-guidance post to assist him when next in discussion with IOG about how his investment is going ?!

It is absolutely imperative that this upstream tailings dam issue has been completely scrapped and revised I would say or SAV's EIA would surely be facing instant rejection by APA? However, the fact that SAV have been working closely with APA must surely mean that this has indeed been fully resolved or else it would seem to be a waste of time and effort to submit the revised EIA ?! The MdB has been specifically named and focussed upon in this presentation to the EU so I can not imagine that SAV and APA would not have fully addressed this issue in the revised EIA submission. I can see why Archer had to go if he sanctioned the original EIA version as reported in this presentation !

I think he said "around mid January" in the Malcy interview ? If not then I stand corrected, but would also add that making definitive dates for news when dealing with gas drilling and production is something that requires some leeway, as plenty of industry professionals have previously commented on this board. There are numerous factors that can impact hitting dates, particularly during winter months, so whilst I share frustration and impatience waiting for news I do recognise the reality involved as well.

I feel they have until Friday 20th at the latest to issue their next operational update RNS and to hit the loosely defined "around mid January" date. The sp increase since Friday offers hope of good news but we all know that IOG have a nasty habit of disappointing us so all fingers need to remain firmly crossed ! My guess is they are trying to include as much info in the update as possible, but hopefully not in an attempt to offset bad news within it as history shows that doesn't work.

Crucial issue is the urgency that EU lithium supplies are required within the EU supply chain where adherence to social and environmental requirements can surely be monitored and controlled far better than elsewhere in the world . The lithium can only be mined where it is located and that happens to be Barroso in this case, so let's just crack on and get it approved and progressed ASAP instead of procrastinating endlessly whilst the world's environment suffers more and more from combustion engines. This has to happen, simple as that. Sorry to the local residents, but work with SAV to ensure it is handled in the best way possible. If Portugal fail to approve MdB to go ahead then I hope the EU block any future funding and leave the country to fend for itself going forward.

I know everyone has their own agenda, but surprised holders taking their money out here this afternoon given the likelihood of the RNS we all want dropping on Monday, as surely there'll be a decent sp leap if A2 first gas is flowing ?! Each to their own though !

So are we going to see a rush now this afternoon to be invested by 4.30 to avoid missing the boat should there be any positive A2 first gas RNS on Monday morning ?

Just from this little rise today we can already see selling into the rise so can expect the same selling pressure on the sp when the first gas from A2 is announced, similar to when Blythe and Elgood first flowed last March. Hopefully the fact we are starting from a low sp might work a bit differently this time, but there are lots of holders sitting on good profit that will no doubt cash in. As long as the news is all good when it comes then I'll be happy as the sp will come good ultimately with good news through 2023.

SpArmada- nobody said they NEED to, just that it would make good sense to prevent further sp damage if they could announce no known reason for the sp decline over recent days, but obviously can't do so if they are aware of reasons, but that then opens up the can of worms about leaking insider info causing the sp decline.

Masks - disagree with that theory as they would have taken money off table weeks ago and would now be coming back as the date approaches.

I guess RN can hide behind the vagueness of "around mid Jan" to allow IOG up to 20th to issue news either way. IOG have historically never announced negative news in a timely fashion and have clearly always known of issues for quite some time before announcing anything. One thing is certain......RN's credibility will be shot if this RNS is bad and it becomes clear that the same old poor management and communication persists with IOG. And Dougie's rep will also be damaged as the operational saviour.

Is there anything to stop IOG issuing a message to declare no operational issues and that first gas still expected around mid January? Surely it would be in their interests to do so to support the sp? Or does the lack of such a message indicate that there are issues so we just have to sell up or wait for the painful consequence of the negative RNS?
